Leaving the San Francisco 49ers wasn’t a mutual decision. But ultimately, coach Jim Harbaugh had to exit from the franchise. Now after a long-10 years gap, current Michigan Wolverines coach, Harbaugh, is once again reportedly aiming for the NFL entry, but it seems Skip Bayless won’t be happy with this decision.

This NFL season has seen multiple firings of the head coaches, including from teams like Las Vegas Raiders, Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Chargers. Furthermore, as per the sources, NFL teams have decided to part ways with 7-10 more coaches by the end of the season. This means, the exit of the coaches can open the entry of many strategy-makers, and among them, one is Harbaugh, who is planning to re-enter the league. But Bayless finds him “not a nice guy” for the NFL teams.

In a recent episode of his podcast, “The Skip Bayless Show,” the sports commentator discussed multiple issues, including Cowboys vs Lions’ last Sunday’s game, praising CeeDee Lamb, and calling out Taylor Swift a “distraction.” Skip Bayless, further delved into the topic of Jim Harbaugh and his rumors of coming back in the league. At first, Bayless expressed, “Many years, I have come to love Jim Harbaugh because I don’t like him,” but soon supported his arguments calling him one of the “rarest” coaches in the football world.

Furthermore, the sports columnist expressed concerns about the coach’s personality, suggesting, “He can be difficult to be around. He can not be such a nice guy. Jim has a high burnout factor. He burned people out in San Francisco until they finally said enough, more trouble than worth. Great coach, but we have had enough of this.” Besides this, Bayless acknowledges his coaching abilities, despite a shaky period in Michigan. He clarified that as Harbaugh himself had experienced playing at a hard level, so “he can be hard on quarterbacks.”

Bayless expressed his concerns, soon after Jim Harbaugh’s coming back news is swirling around the internet. This happened because recently, Harbaugh hired Don Yee to be his agent. Yee is the same person whose client list includes popular names like head coach Sean Payton and the NFL legend Tom Brady. With his hiring, Harbaugh, as per the reports, has hinted that he is indeed looking for a return to the league.

Now only the future can tell if he will be able to return or not. But again, one would also want to reflect on what went down between Harbaugh and the 49ers almost a decade back.

The tussle between Jim Harbaugh and the Niners goes way back to 2014

Jim Harbaugh had considerable success in the initial three seasons with the Niners, helping the team to reach one Super Bowl and three NFC championship games. However, things took a downturn in the subsequent season, with the team not reaching the playoffs. But that’s not the main reason. Rumors of the coach leaving the franchise started circulating due to the ongoing conflicts with the team’s leadership and officials.

The 2014 season, in particular, saw a sideline confrontation between Harbaugh and the offensive tackle of the Niners, Joe Staley, a decline in the team’s performance, and later missing the playoffs. All of this resulted in Harbaugh’s exit from the franchise, even before his contract ended with the team. Later, in an interview, Harbaugh informed that he had been forced to exit the team, saying, “I didn’t leave the 49ers. I felt like the 49er hierarchy left me.”

I understand what it takes to be an athlete and perform at such a high level since I too have tasted small-time success in sports. As an athlete, I have bagged the coveted district-level championship in track events.
