The NFL was braced with saddening news in the past couple of hours. Following the developments that revealed former NFL CB, D. J. Hayden had died in a car crash, the community has been shaken to its core. Although the details continue to come in, it was noted that Hayden passed away in a car crash that also took the lives of 5 others. This has seen many consolations and messages pour towards his family, offering support in dire times.

Alongside many NFL and footballing voices, Houston Football has also stepped in to show support over the demise of one of their former students. Following the tweet from the collegiate side, Houston’s NFL franchise has stepped in to pay their respects to the dear departed man.

Texans tip their hat to departed D. J. Hayden

While the story is still developing, some crucial details surrounding the somewhat mysterious passing have come to light. It was revealed that D. J. Hayden was involved in a car crash late at night on 10th November at 2 AM. Furthermore, the crash was caused by a driver speeding through a red light; the incident took the lives of 6 people in the crash.

Houston Texans offered their condolences via a tweet on X. While tagging the tweet from Houston football, they captioned their post, “Our thoughts are with former UH football players D.J. Hayden, Zachary McMillian and Ralph Oragwu, their families and all those affected by this tragic accident, and we wish Jeffery Lewis well in his recovery.”

One of the fans went on to comment in support of the former Raiders CB, “I saw that crash, it was terrible. RIP DJ.” Furthermore, one of the witnesses described what they saw in the crash and described it as a car colliding with a freight truck. The car was running at high speed which caused the collision which ultimately resulted in the condition of the victims.
