Brock Purdy is playing in his 4th year only in the NFL. But the last time the 49ers went 3-0 under him in 2023 (in fact, they went 5-0), they were in the Super Bowl (LVIII). This year, the 49ers stand 3-0 as their leader prepares to take back the reins.

Mr. Irrelevant started the season with a bang, winning the first game but injuring his left shoulder and toe. It forced him to miss two games, but before the week 4 matchup, he has now been cleared of any injury and is ready to play against the Jaguars. He first had limited practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but practiced fully with his teammates on Friday (September 26). After checking up on his good health and game readiness, the 49ers are ready to play under him.

HC Kyle Shanahan said on Friday, “He looked good. He got to do a lot more than last week, and each day he got a lot better.” Even Brock Purdy also showed confidence as he said, “I really like where I’m at with the progress with it healing up and feeling better and dropping back, throwing.” He’s the community superstar for something he did recently.

The Faithfuls were waiting to see him back in action. And while his teammates are expecting him to dominate, he was busy bringing smiles to the faces of farmers in Central Iowa. John Deere released a video, showing the NFL QB meeting Corey Hillebo, a fifth-generation farmer from Polk City. There’s a reason fans love him. And the NFC West team was happy to sign the mammoth 5-year, $265 million extension.

There was another silver lining in the injury report. While Purdy returned 2 TDs for 2 interceptions in the week 1 matchup, his backup, Mac Jones, kept them strong by winning the next 2 games with 4 TDs and 1 pick. So, when he also injured his knee and the 49ers listed him as questionable on Friday’s injury report, concerns were building up.

However, September 27 brought a fresh wave of good news as he was also cleared of any injury. That means he will sit on the sidelines while the starters play. But after witnessing the injury action, the 49er Faithful need their backup to be at 100%. He was also confident about playing in the week 4 matchup and said, “Just like any other week, you’re going through the week, getting ready for the game plans as a backup or a starter. So, I feel comfortable doing both. I’ll be ready to play.

Now, after sorting out his QB room, the franchise can look towards its wide receivers group.

Brock Purdy is expecting his offensive weapon to play against Jaguars

WR Ricky Pearsall didn’t start for the 49ers this year either. Last year, in his rookie season, he survived a gunshot wound to his chest while evading a robbery. This year, they placed him on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List in early September. But everyone in the Bay Area knows his toughness. He came back with full force. In 3 games this season, he has already logged 16 receptions for 281 yards without a score.

Struggling with a knee injury, the sophomore WR had limited practice on 25 and 26, forcing the Niners to list him as questionable. Their WR1 Jauan Jennings also did a full practice only on Friday, getting the same injury designation. However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport claimed that they are expected to play against the Jaguars. That will be a big boost for Brock Purdy.

Jennings has only played 2 games (2 starters) until now. But he has already scored a touchdown on 7 receptions for 105 yards. So, the Niners will have a simple game if their starting quarterback and top receivers return together and form the perfect tandem.
