A known Burrow loyalist, the WR rates his QB above everyone else. And he wouldn’t have let his signal caller go to battle alone. Both played together at LSU before Joe Cool joined the Bengals in 2020. A year later, the wide receiver followed him to the franchise. With his college mate at the center, Chase has been phenomenal. His stats are equally impressive.

In his first 3 NFL seasons, Ja’Marr Chase has crossed the 1,000-yard mark every year. In his rookie season (in 2021), he made NFL records for a rookie which included the most receiving yards including the postseason (1,823), receiving yards in a game (266), and receiving yards in the postseason (368). A rookie anyone would love! He didn’t slow down and had 145 targets with 100 receptions in 2023. The offense has got its teeth back with his comeback to the fold. But there’s one catch.

Ja’Marr Chase’s contract extension will be signed very soon: Chad Ochocinco Johnson

Bengals legend Chad Ochocinco Johnson appeared on The Adam Schefter Podcast and talked about Chase’s contract extension. While calling himself a player who loved the game, he claimed that Ja’Marr and his team understand the business side of the game. Johnson, who spent a decade at the Bungles, said that the WR wouldn’t be on the field until he signs a contract extension. But he also predicted that a deal is coming the receiver’s way very soon. That too because of Joe Burrow. Amazing inference!

The retired WR claimed that Bengals management will sign an extension with Ja’Marr Chase before the season. Asserting that the quarterback will also have a role in this, he said, “Ja’Marr’s deal will get done, probably sometime this week, definitely before the season starts. Because I’m sure Joe Burrow will probably grow frustrated at some point not having his top receiver out there.” Though he didn’t have any concrete insider information, one thing is known to everyone. The bond of the WR and the QB.
