It’s not a big deal!! Lamar Jackson seems undeterred after losing out on his bonus. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback skipped a major chunk of the OTAs, which made him miss out on his contract bonus worth $750,000, as per PFT. However, the 27-year-old seems to have good humor about the whole thing.

The MVP had a tongue-in-cheek response to teammate Zay Flowers poking fun at him. The wide receiver tagged Jackson on a reel with a lookalike of the quarterback and wrote, “Omg what happened to Lj“, along with a laughing emoji. The doppelganger, however, had one stark difference: a lighter skin tone and Jackson was quick to point it out.

I guess them OTA practices I missed outside made me lightskin“, was the cheeky response of the Ravens’ signal-caller. It seems that Jackson isn’t too worried about the lost money, especially when we consider his massive $260 million contract last season.

While skipping the OTAs can sometimes be interpreted as a push toward a contract demand, Jackson’s absence is no cause for worry. The Ravens’ franchise QB is set to return next year after having a career-high season in 2023. So when an analyst left him out of the top five quarterback’s list, Jackson had a comeback of his own.

Nick Wright recently listed his top five QBs on his podcast, which didn’t feature the Ravens signal-caller. On the top spot was unsurprisingly the 3-time MVP, Patrick Mahomes. Following him were the Bills’ Josh Allen, Bengals’ Joe Burrow, and Texans’ C.J. Stroud. On the fifth spot sat a new and surprising name, the Rams’ Matthew Stafford. On the topic of Jackson, the analyst quoted his playoff performance as the reason.

Every year of his career, he has had his worst game of the season in the playoffs,” said Wright. “Every single year of his career. Sorry. I mean, score more than 10 points in a home conference championship game.” The video soon floated to Jackson online, with one user tagging the player and asking for a comeback, “LMFAOOOOO OWN THAT BIG NOSE B—-“. The QB took up the offer and didn’t use any words, only a GIF in his reply.
