The Kansas City Chiefs’ home defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday seemed to have its repercussions off the field too. The  Eagles won with a scoreline of 21-17 and fans were quick to point out that the star quarterback of the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes was not quite his usual self.

After the game, Mahomes was notably absent from a family gathering that featured his mom, Randi Mahomes, brother, Jackson Mahomes, and younger sister, Mia Mahomes. A little bit of ‘alone time’ calling or just a coincidence?

It may be recalled here that the Chiefs were on a roll, but halfway through the season, they have had to contend with three consecutive losses. Their present record of 7 wins and 3 losses still places them in a comfortable position but one more loss could set some alarm bells ringing.

The Chiefs lose and Pat Mahomes admits this

 The Eagles’ defense proved a significant obstacle for the Chiefs’ offense, with Patrick Mahomes struggling to find his rhythm. The Monday night football matchup was a nightmare for the Chiefs, as their star quarterback acknowledged his shortcomings in a post-match conference. Mahomes admitted, “I think offensively, I’m just not where I want to be at this point in the season.“

The Eagles, seeking revenge for their Super Bowl LVII defeat against the Chiefs, capitalized on their opportunity. Jalen Hurts’ touchdown run in the second half marked a significant turnaround in the game. However, only the naive will take the Chiefs lightly and nobody will be surprised if they go back to their winning ways in their next game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
