The pressure seems to be rising for the Miami Dolphins. With the AFC East championship playoffs set to start later this year, the team has been gearing up to bring their A-game to the division matches. While the Bills have been dominating the division for the past few years, some people are choosing to back the 13-time victors.

Shortly after being asked to revisit their contract with WR Tyreek Hill, the Dolphins wound up getting support from an unlikely source. In a recent episode of The Carton Show, former NFL star, Plaxico Burress, shared his stance on who he will be supporting in the AFC East Division.

He stated, “Imma go on the record again this year, and Imma say that with Aaron Rodgers or without Aaron Rodgers, I still believe that the Miami Dolphins are the better team.” While other hosts on the show were taken aback by Burress’ decision, he stuck to his guns. The 46-year-old said that he would not be supporting the Bills as their “window has closed as far as getting to a Super Bowl or a Championship.”

Although the former athlete has made his choice, other enthusiasts think it is too soon to say what could happen this year. After all, with Odell Beckam Jr. stepping into the fray and Tyreek Hill’s soon-to-be-ending 2026 contract, there seems to be a lot going on behind the scenes.

Just a day ago, Tyreek Hill made it loud and clear to the Dolphins that he wanted to stay with the team. Although the 30-year-old’s contract has two more seasons left after the current one, that was not enough for him. In a recent episode of the Around the Bar podcast, he hinted at plans of eventually retiring in Miami. After all, he and his family had grown rather fond of the place.

Hill stated, “I would like to retire in Miami, but we all know how the NFL is, how jobs go, and people getting promotions over here, and you know, we understand that.” However, the wide receiver could not help but continue with, “But Miami is a great city, man. I love the team I play on, love the guys in the locker room, love the head coach, love the GM. So that means sign me.”

While Hill has stated his case and told the Dolphins what he wants, they have not yet acknowledged the open demand. Although Hill’s feet will be planted in Miami for the next couple of years, there is the possibility of a change in the future. After all, no one had expected the WR to be traded from the Chiefs as well.
