The quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Russell Wilson, is excited to play for his new side! On March 4, the Denver Broncos officially announced the release of their ex-benched QB Wilson. Shortly after this news, Wilson signed a low yet financially sensible deal with the Steelers.

But the question remained, will he be the starter when QB Kenny Pickett is still on the roster? However, now this concern has also vanished, as the Steel City traded Pickett to his teenage favorite Eagles gang. Consequently, this opened the door wider for Wilson, who appeared rather happy while wishing his new coach.

It seems Russell Wilson is quite happy to work under coach Mike Tomlin. In his latest Instagram story, posted a few hours ago on Friday, Wilson shared a picture of himself with coach Tomlin. In a two-photo collage, the QB can be seen hugging his new coach, wishing him a happy birthday in one photo, and engaging in a coach-QB conversation in the other picture. Wilson captioned the post writing, “Happy Birthday, Coach!! Excited to get to work!!!” and tagged Tomlin’s IG account.

These photos were likely taken during the meeting and signing with the team. In another post uploaded by Wilson on his Instagram and X account, the quarterback could be seen signing an agreement with the team and spending time with Pittsburgh officials. Russell, who visibly appeared extremely happy, informed his followers that he was “Ready to Work!!” with the team, and while appreciating the first day meet, he wrote, “Great day one,” with a strong arm emoji.

So, as Wilson “can’t wait to get to work,” the NFL fans are awaiting some great plays and coordination from this bond in the next season.

Will Russell Wilson’s entry bring the fifth Super Bowl for the Steelers?

The news broke last Sunday night that Russell Wilson agreed to a $1.21 million deal with the Steelers before free agency started. This surprised many because it wasn’t widely expected, even after a long meeting at the team’s facility last Friday. Despite not making a big splash in the 2024 salary cap, Wilson’s impact on the Steelers this season is expected to be huge.

Former NFL fullback Lorenzo Neal thinks Wilson will have the most impact among any QB in free agency this season. He compared the current Steelers team to the dominant Seahawks of the past, suggesting that Pittsburgh’s strong defense could help Wilson excel, similar to how it did in Seattle.

Wilson won’t have to carry the Steelers as much, given their history of success with average quarterback play. The Steelers have a solid defense and recently strengthened it by signing linebacker Patrick Queen. Even though Wilson’s numbers have declined in recent years, Pittsburgh could be a good fit for him because he won’t be under too much pressure to perform.

However, despite Wilson’s arrival, the Steelers’ Super Bowl odds remain the same (+7500), as per Legal Sports Report. This indicates that there’s still work to do for them to be considered top contenders. What are your thoughts on the roster changes hosted by the Pittsburgh side? Let us know below!
