Micah Parsons says he hasn't hit his prime yet—do you believe he's the future of the Cowboys?

The Micah Parsons drama just refuses to die! The Dallas Cowboys linebacker is in an odd situation with his teammates taking potshots at him. In his latest appearance on ‘All Facts No Brakes With Keyshawn Johnson’, Parsons’ teammate Malik Hooker had a lot to say about him. Pointing out last season’s debacle against the Green Bay Packers, Hooker advised Micah to stop pursuing Jason Kelce’s route of podcasting and focus on the game. Though he deleted his initial reply to Malik on his X (formerly Twitter) account, the Cowboys star defends himself once again!

On July 3, 2024, Micah Parsons fired off two back-to-back posts on X. “I love being doubted,” wrote the 25-year-old. He further claimed that all the criticism is working as “fuel” for him to make a strong comeback next season! But that wasn’t the end of the former first-round pick’s rant. Parsons also wrote, “I really aint even hit my prime yet!” Clearly, the Pennsylvania native has had enough of online backlash over his on-field performances.

Micah Parsons hosts ‘The Edge’ podcast for Bleacher Report and the last episode came out in February 2024. More often than not, Parsons has delivered in a Cowboys shirt since joining the franchise in 2021. Not only does he have 213 tackles, but Micha’s 40.5 sacks are the 13th highest in the franchise’s history. In the 2023 season, Micah Parsons also became the first Cowboys player to have double-digit sacks in successive three seasons. Jacksonville Jaguars handed Josh Allen a $150 million contract extension, who has only 32 sacks in the same period. It makes Parsons’ claims of a contract extension even stronger. Despite the recent backlash, Micah still has some supporters in the game.

Former Rams and Philadelphia Eagles Defensive End, Chris Long rushed to Micha Parsons’ support! Long dismissed Malik Hooker’s take completely and said, “I don’t think Micah Parsons is the problem in Dallas.” The 39-year-old also refused to put the entire blame for the Packers defeat last season on Parsons. “I don’t think Micha Parsons’ podcast got the ball run up your a** when Buffalo thumped you,” Long added during his podcast.

Even before the Parsons drama, the Cowboys were under the scanner quite a bit! In June 2024, reports broke out that head coach Mike McCarthy and owner Jerry Jones aren’t on the best of terms. To add to the Cowboys’ misery, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is also holding out for a $32 million per year contract. Though Lamb previously told Parsons on ‘The Edge’ podcast that he wanted to stick with the team, now a trade isn’t out of the equation.

To sum it all up, America’s Team is going through a tough period and fans can’t put all of it on Micah Parsons. However, winning cures all problems and if the Cowboys can deliver their first Super Bowl title since 1995, all the drama will be water under the bridge. Can that happen? Only time will tell.
