The Eagles are soaring with a solid 6-2 start (not quite untouchable, but they’re definitely flexing). With a showdown in Dallas next on the schedule, all eyes are on WR AJ Brown, who got sidelined with an injury during their win over the Jags. But hold up, Philly fans—there just might be some good news in store.

You asked about Brown’s knee injury. Yeah, it’s nothing major, per Jordan Schultz. And not just that, you can expect him to be back real soon. That’s one big sigh of relief for the Eagles. And why now? Philly’s still looking pretty sharp going into one of the season’s biggest matchups.

We say biggest, but the Cowboys aren’t exactly playing with that America’s Team demeanor as you’d expect them to (the 3-5 record speaks for it). But that’s just more relief for the Eagles to be fair.

Now, if you missed it, Brown gave everyone a scare in the Jags game. After a 16-yard snag just before the two-minute warning, he took a hard hit from Ventrell Miller and Foyesade Oluokun. Brown was slow to get up, but he walked off on his own and even returned to the field before halftime. Grit and resilience? Yeah, but not so long as he left shortly after to get checked out.

So, what does this mean for the Eagles’ offense? While Brown had two catches for 36 yards before heading out, Philly leaned hard on their run game, with Saquon Barkley doing the heavy lifting. The strategy paid off as the Eagles glided past Jacksonville with a 28-23 win, keeping that win column looking nice and healthy.

Brown’s early-season hamstring issue sidelined him for three games, so Philly’s fans and coaches are definitely crossing their fingers. The Eagles are on the hunt, and with Brown looking okay, their wings stay strong for what’s next.

If not AJ Brown, then who?

With AJ Brown out in the second half, the Eagles needed a hero, and DeVonta Smith answered the prayers. Smith went off during a crucial 91-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter, racking up 78 yards and finishing it off with a highlight 25-yard grab in the back of the end zone. Talk about stepping up! If you had any doubts about who could fill Brown’s shoes, Smith just put those to rest.

But let’s be real—getting Brown back is still a big deal. In the first half, he was targeted four times and came down with two catches for 36 yards before the injury bug bit. His presence makes a difference, no doubt. Now, if Brown can’t suit up for Week 10 against the Cowboys, we might see Smith take on an even bigger role in Philly’s passing game.

Jalen Hurts is still slinging it, with 230 yards and two touchdowns on just 18-of-24 completions against the Jags. And let’s not forget Saquon Barkley, who stepped up in a big way, rushing for 159 yards and a touchdown. Barkley might even see more targets if Brown is out. So, that’s there. You’d need all your weapons to fill in the void created by one weapon.

So, here’s hoping Brown can hit the field next week, because the Eagles are in a tight NFC East race, trailing the 7-2 Commanders. And if anything, they would need all that’s required to get it done!
