Jonathan Owens’ “late hit out of bounds” on Patrick Mahomes during the game between the Chiefs and the Packers came with criticism on the refs. For Simone Biles, it was all about cheering her husband until the Packers crushed the Chiefs with an 8-point lead. The 7-time Olympic medalist shot an energy-filled post to celebrate her husband’s win despite this turbulence.

The Packers were right on the money from the start and completely owned the first two quarters. During the helm of play, a controversial hit to the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes by the Packers’ safety, caught the eye of the American Athlete as she watched it happen from the sidelines. The Packers’ fans ripped the refs for the roughing penalty call.

Simone Biles’ husband got flagged for slamming Mahomes

At one point during the game, Mahomes had the ball in his hand and was trying to secure the sidelines. This is when Jonathan Owens came from the side and hit the Mahomes with utmost ferocity. ESPN shared the update on X. In the image, you can see Patrick Mahomes trying to save the ball and himself as he took the late hit. Eventually, Owens was flagged for the “late hit out of bounds”.

 

However, this roughing penalty was called out by NFL fans, who criticized the refs for the “biased” decision. The fourth quarter came out as a game-changer and the Packers defeated the Super Bowl champs in one of the biggest turnaround of the season. In the fourth quarter, the Packers crushed the Chiefs with a 27-19 win. Simone Biles took to X and celebrated her husband’s win.

 

The Wisconsin game had snowy and chilling weather, giving some advantage to the Packers as per their previous experiences. During this game, Jordan Love emerged as another star, who completed “25 of 36 passes for 267 yards” scoring 3 touchdowns and no INTs. This win should have surely given a reason to smile to Owen and Simone Biles as now the Packers can take a sigh of relief.

The Packers are back in the race for the Play-offs

While the Chiefs don’t have to worry much as they have registered eight wins this season and are still ruling the charts in the AFC West. The Packers have now won six games and lost the same amount. They are now sitting at the third spot in the NFC North and have the same .500 pct as the Vikings (2nd in NFC North) who are going to face a bigger challenge from the Green Bay Packers (now 3rd in NFC North).

The Packers squad has won four of their last five games. It goes without saying that the team has tremendously improved to 6-6 this season. As Jordan Love looks more comfortable with the confidence within Matt LaFleur offense, things appear promising for this team. Owens and his squad will face the Giants next week at the MetLife Stadium. The Giants are relaxing now during their bye week but can’t afford to lose a single match going forward.
