The Las Vegas Raiders created history tonight by breaking the franchise record of scoring the highest points in a blowout game against the Los Angeles Chargers. The enormous 63-21 victory was a surprise to many but simultaneously one of the most exciting games of this season. Here, people thought the Raiders were done and dusted. Little did we know they had so much artillery in their arsenal.
The game was a rollercoaster ride, and the Raiders dominated it from the start to the end. The Las Vegas team scored 21 points each in the first and second quarters, 14 in the third quarter, and seven in the last. In the wake of this game, it’s only fair to look back at the past and recall some of the most impactful victories in the NFL.
Washington Redskins vs. New York Giants (Nov. 27, 1966) – 113-Point Game

The game at RFK Memorial ended with a whopping final score of 72-41. The Washington team made history that day when they scored 34 points over the New York Giants in the first half of the game.
They didn’t stop after that, as the team scored 14 points in the third and 24 points in the fourth quarter. The Washington QB, Sonny Jurgensen, completed 10 of his 16 passes for 145 yards.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns (Nov. 28, 2004) – 106-Point Game
The Browns and Bengals rivalry has been an iconic one over the years. The Battle of Rocky Mountain happened at the Paul Brown Stadium and left the fans awestruck. The Bengals QB Carson Palmer threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns. Rudi Johnson got two more after that.
The game amassed about 1,000 yards as the Bengals emerged victorious with a final score of 58-48. The Browns lost despite Kelly Holcomb playing at his best, passing for 413 yards.
Seattle Seahawks vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Nov. 27, 1983) – 99-Point Game
This one is worth a mention because it is the highest-scoring OT game. The Chiefs were leading till the second quarter. The score was 21-7 when the Seattle Seahawks decided to do something about it.
In an intense back and forth, the game was tied by the end of the fourth quarter and went to OT. It was a 42-yard kick from Norm Johnson that was the tiebreaker.
Miami Dolphins vs. Denver Broncos (Sept. 24, 2023) – 90-Point Game
The current fastest offense in the league went against the Denver Broncos and devoured them. The Miami Dolphins made history that day.

Raheem Mostert scored over four touchdowns, along with De’Von Achane, who scored more than three touchdowns against the Denver team.
Chicago Bears vs. Washington Redskins (Dec. 8, 1940) – 73-Point Game

This game is an honorable mention, as it happened before the Super Bowl Era. The Chicago Bears, however abysmal today, defeated the Washington team 73-0! The Bears had lost to this Washington team a few weeks before and took revenge and did not let them score at all. The Washington team had nine turnovers that ended up costing them the game.
