You know what they say a ‘Slip Of A Moment Can Result Into An Accident’. And, the Chiefs are in a somewhat similar case. Despite the fact that they are the number 1 seed of the AFC, it appears like Andy Reid is still worried about facing some teams. And because of this, arguably the best head coach is making sure that his team does not take anyone lightly. Especially in the AFC division. But which team is Reid talking about?

AFC West! This division has been very dominant this season. The Chiefs’ head coach, Andy Reid, is also highly impressed with each team. The man wants Patrick Mahomes and his team to not get any false hope that they can win against any of these teams in the playoffs. Reid stated, “The level of this division is I think incredible. We’ve got all four teams playing hard aggressive football and good solid football.” But wait, didn’t this division also have the Raiders who missed out on a good season this year?

Well, there are always two faces of coins. And the Raiders are the other face in this scenario. The team has 4 wins and 12 defeats. And this is the reason Andy Reid does not think much about them. On top of that, he believes that aside from them, the other two can be a significant challenge for the Chiefs. Ouch, man. That would have hurt.

The HC claimed in an interview, “I know the Raiders are not in I get that, but I know the other two are as deserving as anybody to be in the playoffs and you know it’s good to see that. I think this is all about the competition we are in it for competition. Both Denver and the Chargers both they are both really good football teams”

This shows that Tom Brady’s Raiders do not have a good image at all right now. And they really need to make some changes to improve next season. On the other side, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes will be looking for ways to counter the other two teams. But wait, for Week 18, all of these ideas appear to be on hold.

Andy Reid intends to bench Patrick Mahomes in Week 18

While it does sound pretty strange, it is going to happen. Reporter Jay Glazer has disclosed that Andy Reid is considering alterations for the Chiefs‘ final game. The HC does not want his big names or partially injured players to participate so they can heal. However, Reid is ensuring that the players do not deviate too far from their intended path, since it will be critical for them to fire good shots in the playoffs.

Andy Reid reacted to all this in an interview too where he revealed, “They were able to get some rest, which I thought was important. I’m not recommending that you do that every year so, but down the road, I think we’ll be okay from it because of the rest that we gained here.” After that, the HC also explained how their bye week was early this year. It was in week 7 and after that, the boys have been working continuously. So it’s better to remove some pressure off them.

If this is the case, we could see Carson Wentz, the Chiefs’ backup quarterback, play against the Broncos. Only time will tell what happens. Until then, let us know what you think about Wentz playing. Do you believe the Chiefs will finish 16-1?
