Never in this season did we see the Dolphins’ owner do the Waddle celebration. The last loss against the Tennessee Titans made the fans apprehensive about the team. The bandwagon of calling a team ‘exposed’ got to the Dolphins and, for some, Tua Tagovailoa was the reason behind it. Some fans even said he is nothing without Tyreek Hill, but he buried the conversation today after a win against the New York Jets.

Tagovailoa proved why he is the top vote-getter for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games. Now, an interesting tweet from former Eagles’ LB, Emmanuel Acho, is doing numbers on X and tells us why the Dolphins’ current standing in the season is not a fluke.

A snippet from today’s game has taken over the internet. The tweet from Acho shows Tua Tagovailoa throwing a 60-yard missile to Jaylen Waddle as he takes it to home for a touchdown. The camera then shifts to the Dolphins’ owner, Stephen M. Ross, who gets excited and does the ‘Waddle Dance’. An interesting thing about the tweet, besides the video, is what Acho wrote.

The sports analyst praised the QB’s game; stating, “Oh, and he’s (Tua Tagovailoa) doing this without Tyreek Hill.. can everybody be quiet now, please.” Tagovailoa was 11/11 for 60 yards when Acho made the tweet. By the time the game concluded, the QB was 21/24 for 224 yards. Tagovailoa will have to show the same zeal going forward because Hill might not be around for some time.

The Jets lost 30-0 to the Dolphins, so it’s safe to say that the team is doing what it’s supposed to do, that is: win games. Especially without a WR who leads the league with 1,552 yards and 12 TDs. The Dolphins are going against the Dallas Cowboys and the fans will get a Christmas present on MNF. Hopefully, Tagovailoa will maintain this momentum.

2 Former NFL Stars Present Contrasting Opinion amidst Cam Newton’s comment

Interestingly enough, Acho dubbed Tua Tagovailoa ‘Game Manager’ in his tweet referencing to the recent comments made by Cam Newton. Newton recently stated that certain quarterbacks, including Tua, are ‘game managers’ while other are ‘difference makers’ creating a chaos among netizens.

Tua Tagovailoa: Not a ‘difference maker’?

Despite the Dolphins’ QB leading them to the top of their division, Cam Newton was not convinced about him being MVP material. Newton thinks that the QB’s job is to not lose games because of something they did. Per Newton, making game-winning decisions is what separates a ‘game manager’ from a ‘difference maker’

“If we’re going to really call a spade a spade, there’s a difference between difference managers of the game and difference makers of the game” said Newton. Acho’s words might have been a subtle jab at Cam Newton’s words as Tua proved that he has it in him, with or without Hill. Maybe Newton will finally change his views on the QB after seeing his performance vs the Jets?

One take at a time

Basketball has stuck with me ever since I was a kid. I remember watching Kobe Bryant sometime in 2008 and being blown away. Like every kid my age, I was utterly taken aback by his moves and abilities as an athlete.
