The Steelers not only added some great players to their unit. But they also acquired them far more cheaply than they could’ve hoped for! Quality additions such as Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are practically free for the Steelers. The Denver Broncos will cover Wilson’s salary and so they could acquire him at a low cost of 1.35 million .

Similarly Fields arrived with a trade of the Steelers conditional sixth-round pick of the NFL 2025 Draft. With these incoming forces, previous QB1 Kenny Pickett has been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. In this trade, the Steelers gained one third-round pick for this year’s Draft and two seventh-round draft picks for the 2025 NFL Draft.
