He initially joined the Raiders as a linebackers coach. His interim head coaching tenure began on October 31, 2023, and during this time, he led the team to a 5-4 record.

In his tenure, the Raiders finished with a winning record and excelled in the AFC West. They went 3-1 in the AFC West. Davis shared his honest thoughts on the team’s performance.
