The buzz around the NFL draft is building, and all eyes are on Marvin Harrison Jr.! His stellar performances have made him one of the most talked-about prospects. Throughout three remarkable seasons, he pulled in an impressive total of 155 catches. In the 2022 season alone, he showcased his incredible talent with 77 receptions, followed by another standout year in 2023 with 67 catches.

The Arizona Cardinals, holding the fourth pick, are widely expected to sign Harrison Jr. to their team. After a tough season that saw them finish 4-13, the Cardinals are eager to bounce back. Former safety Robert Griffin III shared his thoughts on his podcast, RG3 and The Ones. And mused that if Harrison Jr. were to join the Cardinals, it could be the catalyst the team needed to turn their fortunes around.

Known for his exceptional adaptability, Harrison Jr. has shown he can connect with any QB. He shined brightly at Ohio State with CJ Stroud and a roster of others under center. But in the NFL, it’s the Arizona Cardinals that are emerging as the dream team for Harrison Jr., largely due to the presence of Kyler Murray, the Cardinals’ franchise QB.

After shaking off last season’s rust, Murray is all set to lead with renewed vigor, making this the perfect time for Harrison Jr. to step in. “You’ve got a quarterback in Kyler Murray who is their franchise guy…so he got a little bit of the rust off and he’ll be ready to roll this year,” RG3 said.

In Arizona, the competition for passes isn’t daunting. TE Trey McBride led the team in targets, receptions, and yards last season. Him and WR Michael Wilson are the two primary names that Harrison Jr. would be up against for catches. This scenario positions Harrison Jr. not just as another addition but potentially as Murray’s go-to receiver.

And Murray himself is going nowhere, as the Cardinals recently declared their fondness for him.

Cardinals’ “love” for Kyler Murray

Over the weekend, Kyler Murray saw his 2025 season salary of $29.9 million become fully guaranteed. Albert Breer from Sports Illustrated reported, “The Arizona Cardinals love Kyler Murray. I didn’t think I’d be writing that a year ago—when everyone thought Arizona would be the worst team in the league, preparing to draft [Caleb] Williams and offload Murray in 2024—but that’s where we are.”

With Murray’s salary for 2024 already set in stone at $35.3 million, cutting him would have resulted in a hefty financial blow, a scenario the Cardinals clearly wanted to avoid. The team’s commitment to Murray is unwavering, even amidst major changes in the organization, including welcoming a new GM, Monti Ossenfort, and HC, Jonathan Gannon, last offseason.

However, Murray’s actions off the field, particularly his dedication to recovering from a late 2022 ACL tear, impressed everyone within the organization. Breer noted, Murray was a constant presence at the team’s facilities, tirelessly working on his rehabilitation. “Going above and beyond to work his knee back to health,” as Breer put it.
