‘Best QB Prospect in a Decade’, Caleb Williams’ ‘Dual Threat’ Bags Him Offensive Rookie of the Year Prediction

Dave Helman had a conversation with Henry McKenna to preview the NFL OROTY award! Within the conversation, Henry said, “Ok I feel like we don’t like we have lost sight of the fact that we have supposedly, like the best quarterback prospect in like a decade.” He further added, “I know the Bears have stunk for a long time and I know they don’t have good history of picking quarterbacks, but Caleb Williams is like really, really really good. He is like a dual threat. He is so got the arm that everybody’s been looking for a decade.”
Williams’ ability to both pass and run adds versatility to the Bears’ offense, giving them a dynamic edge. McKenna points out that Williams will have a talented group of receivers to target, including Keenan Allen, Rome, DJ Moore, and Cole Schmidt. The analyst further said, “that kind of guy tends to win Rookie of the Year.”

Caleb Williams: From High school standout to NFL rising star
During high school, He struggled in the board races and shadow walkthroughs. But Williams was determined to improve. According to Gonzaga’s offensive coordinator at the time, Danny Schaechter, “He was hungry for it. He wanted to learn the X’s and O’s.”
The 22-year-old faced challenges as a freshman, competing against more experienced players. But, With dedication, he gradually began to excel. “He really took it to heart when he would lose four races and when he would get it wrong when it came to those shadow reps,” Schaechter said. Caleb earned the respect of coaches through his hard work.

He made history by becoming the University of Southern California’s eighth Heisman winner. This achievement came after his outstanding sophomore season, he also clinched the Maxwell and Walter Camp Awards, along with the 2022 AP Player of the Year honor during that time.
