Taylor Swift might be the only person on the planet who can turn a Super Bowl into a family drama. One minute, she’s the proud Eagles fan with deep Philly roots; the next, she’s front and center at Chiefs games, cheering on Travis Kelce like she’s been part of Chiefs Kingdom all along. Now, with Kansas City set to battle the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, the ultimate NFL loyalty test is here. And just to make things even messier? Her own family is caught up in the crossfire.

Swift’s Eagles fandom isn’t up for debate—she’s name-dropped them in Gold Rush and rocked their gear plenty of times. But this season? She’s been all about the Chiefs. From showing up at Kelce’s games to celebrating big wins. She’s made it clear where her heart is (at least romantically). And if that wasn’t enough, her dad, Scott Swift—who’s been an Eagles guy forever—was even spotted wearing Chiefs gear. That move had Philly fans raising their eyebrows, wondering if the whole Swift clan was making the switch.

Meanwhile, Jason Kelce, Travis’ brother and Eagles legend, just confirmed that Taylor is heading to the Super Bowl. Talking to PEOPLE, he said, “I mean, I don’t want to speak for everybody, but I think obviously, our whole family. I believe, obviously Trav and Taylor, and his family and his friends.” Translation? Taylor is gonna be in New Orleans. And she’ll probably be rocking Chiefs red while the Eagles fans in her life try to pretend it’s not happening.

No matter what, this Super Bowl just got even spicier. Whether she’s all-in on the Chiefs or still has a soft spot for Philly, someone’s gonna feel some type of way about it. And let’s be real—Swift doesn’t need to pick a side for the cameras. The internet will do it for her.

Philly’s petty era: no Taylor Swift before the Super Bowl

Philadelphia’s love for the Eagles runs so deep that even Taylor Swift isn’t safe from the smoke. Local radio station 94.5 PST just announced they’re “pressing pause on all things Taylor Swift” leading up to Super Bowl LIX, where the Eagles will battle the Chiefs. It’s all in good fun, of course, but it’s yet another sign that Swift’s NFL loyalty is officially a hot topic. Once the city’s favorite pop star, she’s now dating Travis Kelce—AKA a key player for the team standing in Philly’s way. And Eagles fans? Yeah, they’re letting her know exactly how they feel about it.

This isn’t the first time Philly has gone full petty mode with Swift’s music. Back in November 2023, Q102 pulled the same move before the Eagles-Chiefs rematch. The station straight-up banned her songs for the weekend, with host Nugget saying, “Q102 is punting Taylor Swift from the radio station for the entire weekend because while Q102 loves Taylor Swift, this weekend it’s really important we show our support for the Birds.” Even Philly legend Patti LaBelle got in on the fun, telling Swift on The Tamron Hall Show, “Taylor and all your ‘’Swifties,’ back up boo-boo. The Chiefs are going down.”

Despite all the playful shade, Taylor Swift’s still making her way to the big game. Jason Kelce confirmed she’ll be in New Orleans, fully locked in to support Travis. And let’s be real—while Philly fans might be side-eyeing her, Chiefs Kingdom is rolling out the red carpet.

At the end of the day, this is just another chapter in the Taylor-Travis saga that’s taken over football. Whether she’s rocking Chiefs red or keeping things neutral. Her Super Bowl presence alone is enough to keep the NFL world buzzing.
