Big Dom isn’t just Philly-famous! Dominic “Big Dom” DiSandro, the Philadelphia Eagles longtime Senior Advisor to the GM and Chief Security Officer, is in the headlines quite often these days. His cultural status has grown immensely in recent years. Whether in the White House Rose Garden or on a local sports field, DiSandro continues to carry the Eagles’ championship swagger with him. And, this time, he was in the news again when he was featured in an Instagram Story posted by Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump.

In her Instagram story, Ivanka shared a candid shot of Big Dom on a sports field with her son, with the caption, “Thanks, Big Dom for coming out to watch the kids play! You made their day!” In the picture, DiSandro is dressed casually in a black T-shirt, white cap, dark sunglasses, and his trademark gold jewelry. And, his charisma radiates through the picture, which has made him a cult hero in Philadelphia and even beyond.

Ivanka also posted a second story with a close-up of her son, Theodore Kushner, in the frame. Wearing pink receiver gloves, he shows up with a massive, diamond-studded ring that could only be one thing: the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl ring.

Theodore is the youngest son of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, born on March 27, 2016. They are also parents to two other children, Arabella Rose Kushner and Joseph Frederick Kushner. Ivanka calls motherhood her “most fulfilling role,” and seeing her son have a good time with Big Dom made her heart dance with joy.

And, the ring gleamed like Lombardi himself blessed it. The silhouette of the 2025 Super Bowl hardware was unmistakable, with a green glint and championship weight. Since Dom DiSandro has been with the Eagles since 1999, the moment was indeed special for Ivanka and the kids on the football turf.

The rise of Big Dom as a cultural icon

Described as a “burly tough guy who refrains from interviews,” Big Dom is responsible for all safety and security matters for players, coaches, and executives. Not just a security guard, he’s also a senior adviser to GM Howie Roseman. He is involved in everything from sideline safety to team travel logistics. And, he even educates players on the NFL’s personal conduct policy. You can consider him as a burly, no-nonsense presence you see on the sidelines or quietly keeping players safe at 76ers or Phillies games.

Big Dom has made a steady rise from team enforcer to folk hero. Ever since the sideline scuffle with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw in December 2023, the world has had its eyes on him. He has even been immortalized in t-shirts, as it was worn by Pete Davidson. As highlighted by Howie Roseman as having “draft instincts,” he is now embraced by the Trump family as a championship ambassador.

Howie said it best, remarking, “There’s no doubt he’s the best in the National Football League, and in my opinion, all of sports, at what he does,” adding, “His ability to not only gather information but have a feel for people… is unmatched.” Big Dom’s cameo at the Eagles’ April 28, 2025, White House visit, hosted by President Donald Trump, went viral. During that ceremony, Trump immediately spotted DiSandro in the front row, calling him by name.

“Oh, you must be Big Dom, huh?” he continued, “We also have to recognize the Eagles’ head of security. Now this is a guy, they say he loves Trump,” adding further, “I had Saquon [Barkley] give him a big beautiful hat last night… He’s sort of a legend.” DiSandro was even invited onstage to speak. And, it was a rare honor for a non-player staff member.

Big Dom resolutely added, “I’d just like to say thank you. It’s an honor to be here. Thank you, President Trump. And that’s it. Go Birds.” Now, as he posed with Trump’s grandson wearing the Eagles’ ring, fans can acknowledge once again that his status is not declining anytime soon.
