Bill Belichick got into the league, and won 8 Super Bowls, made New England Patriots a dynasty with the help of Tom Brady and others, but still left the team on a sour note. After 24 seasons he spent in the league, the veteran is now having a problem finding a coaching job. On top of that, The Dynasty: New England Patriots, painted Belichick in a very bad light.
The coach also met with Arthur Blank on his yacht and the duo had a lengthy conversation, but Blank didn’t hire Belichick. Now, coaches like Bill, despite their coaching prowess are being shunned by the league and they’ve got nowhere else to go. Albert Breer and Rich Eisen had a detailed conversation about Belichick in the show’s recent episode.

The Patriots ex-HC’s stern nature, straightforwardness, and no-BS attitude scare a lot of people. Per Eisen, teams are afraid of someone coming in and “walking all over them.” Eisen and Breer started off their conversation keeping in mind the recent piece ESPN did on Belichick. But Breer interestingly pointed out that Belichick has been ostracized from the league because people “fear” him.

Also, the common knowledge that the second-most winningest coach in the league is difficult to work with, consumes a lot of people. “I don’t think that the stuff that’ happened with Belichick is something that’s not happening in other places where you see Bill not getting a job for these reasons,” Said Breer and added, “I think that’s part of the reason why Jim Harbaugh had a hard time getting back in the league for a couple of years. I think it’s why Mike Vrabel’s out of work now.”
“There’s this inherent fear of people that are going to come in and walk all over everybody,” expanded Breer. But this “fear” was made even clear by the ESPN report.

Though it’s hard to miss out on such a legendary coach, people still concern themselves with what they’ve heard in the past. When Belichick had a meeting with the Falcons’ owner, it was pointed out later that it was the stakeholders’ unanimous decision to keep him out of the organization.
“He was essentially voted off the island,” told a source to ESPN. Also, Belichick’s authoritative personality might cause insecurity among people. “There’s an inherent discomfort with change because people want to protect their jobs,” said Michael Lombardi of Belichick.
Another source close to the Patriots had something to say about Robert Kraft and Belichick’s difficult relationship as well. “[Kraft] found Bill to be extremely difficult and obstinate and kind of stubborn and, in the end, not worthy of his trust. And also very, very, very arrogant.” This perception about Belichick got around the league very quickly and now people supposedly don’t have interest in working with such an individual.

Belichick has his own way of doing things. In the past, he’s demonstrated that he can work alongside others, but the solutions that others offer should be “smart” in the first place. Perhaps, he didn’t get that kind of a collaboration anywhere. Is the shunning of Bill Belichick right? What do you think? Let us know in the comment section below.
