That kid Jayden” is turning heads this season. When this season kicked off, all of us were excited to watch how the rookie QBs, Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams, would turn out to be. These two young talents were top picks this season. While Caleb, sadly, couldn’t do much in his rookie year, Jayden has been balling out. The 24-year-old LSU alum has become a fan favorite with his brilliance on the gridiron. The Commanders’ QB is all set to play his first conference championship, and we are rooting for him. On Thursday, former Steelers coach Bill Cowher made an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, and he had a lot to say about the rookie QB…

Host Rich Eisen decided to take Bill Cowher on a trip down memory lane to his coaching days. While talking about Daniels, Eisen threw in a question about a QB Cowher had coached. Wondering who this QB might be? Well, it’s former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. Eisen asked, “How much did you put on Ben’s plate compared to what you’re seeing the Commanders put on Jayden Daniels’ plate?” Referring to the responsibilities both QBs had in their rookie years. To which Bill replied, “I think Jayden Daniels has had a lot more put on his plate, Rich, than Ben.

Admitting there were some pretty wild coincidences between Ben and Jayden’s rookie years. Bill believes Daniels had to deal with more challenges right from the start. The former NFL coach added, “Ben, by the time he got into it as the season went along, we gave him more and more as he became more comfortable with what he was doing. But I think that they’ve done this from day one [for] Jayden Daniels.”

QB Daniels, who has racked up 3,568 yards and 25 TDs this season, is already being compared to all the star QBs in the league. Some even compare him to Ravens star Lamar Jackson. And then there’s the hot take from Colin Cowherd:He is the Patrick Mahomes of the NFC.” Obviously one can’t talk about Daniels without HC Quinn, and Cowher had praises for the head coach—understandably.

Bill Cowher praises HC Dan Quinn for Commanders’ success

Let’s be honest, folks, we never thought the Commanders would come out on top. No one saw them as the team to make it to the conference championship. They’ve truly been the underdogs this season. And as much as Jayden Daniels and Co. deserve credit for their success, the credit goes to HC Dan Quinn too. A good coach knows other good coaches and isn’t shy about giving them props. Praising HC Quinn, Cowher emphasised how he has “transformed this team and this organization almost overnight. A lot of credit—number one— goes to Dan Quinn, no question.”

Bill Cowher didn’t just give props to Dan Quinn, he made sure to highlight the behind-the-scenes masterminds too. He had a lot to say about Kliff Kingsbury (the Commanders’ OC who shaped Jayden Daniels into a star) and GM Adam Peters (the guy pulling strings to bring in players like Austin Ekeler, Bobby Wagner, and, of course, Jayden Daniels). Cowher couldn’t help but point out how everything’s falling into place for this team (a true squad effort that’s turning heads this season). Teamwork at its finest, right?

The Commanders are rolling into Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday to face the Eagles, and let’s be real. It’s not gonna be a walk in the park. That said, with the way Jayden Daniels and the rest of the squad have been stepping up lately, this one’s got all the makings of a nail-biter. (Seriously, don’t be surprised if you’re pacing your living room by the fourth quarter.) Buckle up people because Sunday’s about to get wild.
