Things aren’t looking good for the Buffalo Bills. Star quarterback Josh Allen might be dealing with a scary nose injury. He left the field after a second‑down play, shaken up when a Jets defender’s hand caught him square in the helmet. As he headed to the sideline, visibly uncomfortable, trainers surrounded him. Moments later, he was sitting with a bloody nose on the sidelines.

So far, the medical staff had stuffed gauze into his nose as they continued to monitor him. Since the game is going on, the severity of his injury remains uncertain.

From Allen running to the sideline and signalling Mitchell Trubisky to step in, it felt like a matter of split seconds. Tracy Wolfson, CBS sideline reporter, claimed the reigning NFL MVP was “bleeding profusely” when he reached the sideline and sat on the bench. “A team of doctors surrounded him trying to quell the bleeding. They finally added some cotton into that nostril,” Wolfson added.

Fans remained confused until the clip was replayed. It clearly showed the quarterback was whacked by opposing DE Micheal Clemons in the nose. While this was happening, Trubisky succeeded in connecting with Joshua Palmer for a 32-yard pass. The Buffalo Bills PR shared the happy news on X, writing, “Injury Update: Josh Allen (bloody nose) has returned to the game.” Trubisky stayed on the field through the rest of the quarter while trainers worked on Allen heading into the break. Fortunately, the veteran didn’t have to handle things for long as Allen returned two plays later, in the second quarter.

Just upon his return, he directed a field goal drive, making Matt Prater convert a 52-yard field goal that resulted in a 13-0 lead for the Bills over the Jets. He has completed 5 of 9 attempts for 56 yards so far in the second quarter. From the looks of it, the injury doesn’t seem serious enough for Allen to sit out throughout. All he can do at the moment is ice his nose and get an X-ray once the game concludes.

Josh Allen went legendary in a 41-40 thriller

The reigning NFL MVP opened the season with a historic feat of 41-40 against the Ravens. With two rushing and two passing touchdowns, he joined the ranks of the league’s legendary Tom Brady, Thurman Thomas, and Brett Favre. It was a comeback victory, but one for the pages of history. Until the last minute of the fourth quarter, fans were sitting at the edge of their seats, anticipating the outcome—which ultimately favored the Bills.

But not all, as many were found to have left the game early. Allen specially addressed those fans during his post-game media interaction, making them regret their decision. “I think there are people who left the stadium. That’s okay. We’ll be fine. But, have some faith next time,” he said. Under Allen’s leadership, the Bills have never been a team to give up so easily. That’s something he’s proud of. “I’m just proud of our team for staying in it,” he said about his team.

In the final four minutes of the game, Buffalo pulled off a stunning comeback from a 15-point deficit. Not only did it set a positive tone for the season, but it also extended their home winning streak to 12 games. Like he said, it was on the team as a whole, but he certainly led it. He became the first player since 1978 to record 251 passing yards and two rushing TDs in a single quarter. Thus, he became the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
