Buffalo Bills‘ Offensive Coordinator Joe Brady has become a beloved figure amongst the fans for his role in the team’s offensive surge. However, his unique postgame tradition? Not so much. The move has recently come into the spotlight, and now everyone is suddenly questioning, ‘Why?’ After every Bills win, a “1-0” is tweeted on the team’s social media. The man behind the message has finally revealed the surprising tradition that follows suit.

“I don’t have (X). I just do 1-0 from my own superstition. I download it, put 1-0 & delete it. I feel awful even saying that but it’s more for my superstition. I’m a little stitious. There wasn’t a lot of them, but I did it in Carolina…It’s such a stupid thing, I’m embarrassed, to be honest.” Brady explained.

This is not a new habit for him, as he did the same thing during his time with the Carolina Panthers.

However, Joe Brady isn’t the only NFL coach who believes in superstitions. Kansas City’s OC Matt Nagy prefers working on his call sheet the night before.

“Everybody’s a little different in how they handle it. Some guys will sleep; others will watch a movie; others will go for a walk. And a lot of guys just like to clear their minds. Me, I type out my call sheet. However you do it, just do it, don’t change anything.” Nagy once revealed in an interview.

Brady’s return to Carolina in Week 8 was particularly sweet. The Bills delivered a crushing 40-9 victory over the Panthers, the team that fired him as their offensive coordinator with just a month left in the 2021 regular season. That difficult chapter in Carolina stands in stark contrast to his time in Buffalo.

The Bills racked up 410 total yards and converted Panthers turnovers into 17 points, a level of production they had not reached since their season opener. The latest win over the Chiefs was yet another Brady classic.

The Bills’ defense was relentless, holding Mahomes to a career-low 44.1 percent completion rate in a regular-season game and forcing a game-sealing interception from rookie Maxwell Hairston with 4:18 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Josh Allen was nearly perfect, completing 23 of 26 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown while adding two more scores on the ground. His 88.5 percent completion rate set a new Bills record.

After watching the Buffalo Bills quarterback torch the Chiefs’ defense, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has officially thrown in the towel when it comes to dealing with Josh Allen.

Frustrated Chiefs ask Josh Allen to call it quits

The moment came right after Buffalo knocked down two of Patrick Mahomes’ desperate throws into the end zone. When the clock hit zero and the dust settled at Highmark Stadium, Spagnuolo walked over to Allen and delivered his blunt request.

“I don’t want you to play anymore. I want you to retire. Nice job.” Spagnuolo said with a smile.

Allen’s rushing touchdown total now stands at 79 for his career, which broke Cam Newton’s NFL record of 77 for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in NFL history. Against the Carolina Panthers, Josh Allen had surpassed Newton’s record of most games in NFL history with both a passing and rushing touchdown (46). However, that number turned into 47 against the Chiefs.

Meanwhile, Mahomes was having the worst game of his career from a completion percentage standpoint. The three-time Super Bowl champion connected on just 15 of 34 passes. He managed 250 yards through the air but failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time since October 2024.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Kansas City and marked their fourth defeat by one score this season. While Kansas City heads into its bye week, the Bills will look to carry this momentum into their Week 10 matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
