Though Sean McDermott has put his faith in young picks like linebacker Terrel Bernard along with defensive end Greg Rousseau, there is still one missed piece in their defense. In a recently released update, a renowned analyst team has suggested strong advice for a $38,000,000 defensive player who can solve Josh Allen’s team’s defensive struggles.

Some fans claim a curse plagues the Bills, while others blame Josh Allen‘s four playoff losses to Patrick Mahomes. Imagine Josh Allen leading the Bills to the Super Bowl in the 2025 season after smashing many shackles of stereotypes. For that, the Bills must solve many problems to prove their capabilities.

But before kicking off a new season and moving deep into the jungle of the offseason, Sean McDermott‘s Bills can make Buffalo fans’ Super Bowl dream come true with a few strategic moves. One such strategic move should be to work tirelessly on the defensive side. After the Bills lost to the Chiefs in the Championship round, fans just dragged a heavy backlash on the Bills’ defense.

So, to end this defensive struggle, the Pro Football Network suggested Sean McDermott sign Shaquill Griffin from free agency, whose career earnings are more than $38 million. The star defender hit free agency after playing one year for the Vikings in 2024. As the 90th overall pick of the 2017 draft, he made his name in the NFL when he was with the Seahawks till 2020.

The cornerback could be a great fit for Sean McDermott’s Bills, as their defense is currently struggling. According to FOX Sports’ 2024 stats, the Bills don’t rank among the top 15 teams in defense. In the 2024 season, their defense gave up an average of 341.5 yards and allowed 44 touchdowns—a significant number compared to the Eagles, who only gave up 33. So, if Sean McDermott can add Shaquill Griffin, who dominated many games in 2024, it would be way more helpful. Remember his performance on December 30, 2024, against Jordan Love and the Packers? Griffin made five tackles in that game. Also, on the December 1 game against the Cardinals? He did the same in that game, crushing the offenses with five solo tackles.

So to get the defense stats to a better side on the list, signing Shaquill Griffin would be a great idea who has made 33 solo tackles in the previous season and two interceptions. But to solve other problems and find relief from the struggle, Sean McDermott should look to draft a wide receiver like Stefon Diggs. Let’s check it out quickly.

Is Sean McDermott to draft a Stefon Diggs-like rookie wide receiver?

Josh Allen and the Bills received a great idea for the NFL 2025 draft picks. With the 30th overall pick in the first round, NFL.com’s Adam Rank suggested the Bills pick the 21-year-old wide receiver from the Missouri Tigers, Luther Burden III

While making his mock draft, Adam Rank wrote, “There are a lot of ways you could go here, with a number of great pass rushers still available to you.” And continued, “However, I really like the idea of adding another receiver. Burden has a game that is very reminiscent of Stefon Diggs and would be a great option for Josh Allen in a receiver corps that is a bit lacking outside of Khalil Shakir.” Like Stefon Diggs’ lightning plays and the skill of creating distances near the end zone, Luther Burden III also puts forth a similar display.

If the first 29 picks in the draft don’t choose Luther Burden III, Sean McDermott has a great opportunity to add a star wide receiver for Josh Allen. In the 2024 CFB season, the Missouri Tigers No. 3 has scored a staggering six touchdowns, and 61 receptions for 676 yards, where his average goes up to 11.1. So, if Sean McDermott manages to add Luther Burden III to his roster, you probably won’t ask next time what stops Josh Allen from winning a Super Bowl. Let’s see what happens… Fingers crossed!
