Brandon Aiyuk has become more cautious amid his uncertain future! The 49ers WR has been rehabbing from his torn ACL that he suffered in the game against the Chiefs in Week 7 last season. Amid his health concerns, he is poised to miss the first four games of the regular season. Well, it is really an adverse situation for the NFL WR who signed the four-year, $120 million contract extension deal with the 49ers back in August 2024.
His hefty contract will run through the 2028 season, but there are questions over whether he’ll live up to lofty expectations in San Francisco. Amidst all this, he seems optimistic with all his kids while recovering from his knee injury. And his latest confession of running away from one of the kids left the fans smiling.
Taking to his official IG handle, Brandon Aiyuk, 27, made the huge confession regarding one of his ‘Bad’ kids. “I take care of all my kids. I just don’t get this 1 rn he bad asf,” he wrote in his post caption. His IG story post featured his pet dog. The NFL WR, whose wedding bells rang with his wife Rochelle Searight back on 13 April, is raising two kids with her: their first kid, their son, whom the couple welcomed 4 years back in September 2020 before their marriage. And, the second kid: their pit bull dog, Deuce. Impressively, NFL star WR treats his dog as his kid. And in his latest update, he admitted that he is missing him badly amid his recovery.

However, this was not the first time that his love for his dog was hyped. 4 years back, in August 2020, during an interview with the FGSN network, he himself revealed his love for his dog. During the candid chat, Aiyuk revealed that he is the owner of a ‘blue-nosed pit bull dog’ whom he owned back in 2019. “My dog is named Deuce. He’s a blue-nosed pit bull. He’s a year and a little bit over a year. It’s like a year and two months,” he explained. It indeed demonstrated that the NFL WR is a big dog lover, as he regards his dog, Deuce, as an important part of his life.
During the same conversation, the Second-Team All-Pro WR referred to the term “doghouse,” emphasizing how important his dog was for him during his difficult time. Now his latest update reaffirms it, as the exact timing of his comeback in 2025 is uncertain amid his recovery.

According to the reports, if Aiyuk starts the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, he could miss the first four games.
As per The Athletic reporter, Bowen, “Aiyuk is beginning the season on PUP and missing the first four games.” He also explained that in that case, the 49ers “would lean on Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall and perhaps second-year player Jacob Cowing.”

His team is optimistic about his return. 49ers General Manager John Lynch and Head Coach Kyle Shanahan highlighted his intense work during rehabilitation. They are expecting his return in Week 1. But the team is also making preparations in case he is absent. The 49ers HC affirmed that while it is “too early to tell” for certain, his doctor suggested there is “a chance” he could be ready for the season opener.
It is evident that Aiyuk had difficulty reaching the high expectations set for him by the 49ers prior to his knee injury, as he managed just 25 receptions and 374 yards. Before he went on IR, he did not register any touchdowns. At this time, it remains unclear whether he will be in contention to change that narrative right from the beginning of San Francisco’s 2025 campaign.
