When one man gets shown the door, the door opens for another. It seems the Patriots had been planning this for a long while. No interim coach, and the very next they have a new permanent coach. The name is Jerod Mayo. Many were speculating that Robert Kraft would get someone from the outside. But he decided to promote the inside linebacker coach to the most important coaching role in the team.

He has been with the team as a coach for 4 years now. But his association with the Patriots goes beyond that. Mayo had played for the team as a linebacker from 2008 – 2015. He was nicknamed “Bill Jr.” because he would spend so much time at the facility!

Both were born in the same year, but Mayo just happens to be a month younger. But everyone’s also wondering how the team fast-tracked the process and found a new coach so quickly.

Immediately, one defender said in a text, “I hope they give it to Mayo. He deserves it.” DL Deatrich Wise Jr., felt that the Pats could win over the formidable Bills because of him.
