Brian Callahan is officially in roster-rebuild mode—and he’s not being subtle about it. After a disastrous 2024 season where the Tennessee Titans scraped together just three wins and limped to a .176 win percentage, the franchise is making it clear: changes are coming, and no one’s spot is safe. With the 2025 NFL Draft around the corner—and Cam Ward heavily rumored to be their top pick—the Titans are already trimming the fat.

Ahead of April 24, the Titans quietly released six players—four defensive and two offensive. Per the team’s official website, the list includes linebacker Curtis Bolton, wide receiver Stanley Morgan, defensive tackles McTelvin Agim and Isaiah Iton, defensive back Gervarrius Owens, and offensive guard Logan Bruss.

The moves come shortly after the Titans signed defensive back Justin Hardee, formerly of the Saints and Jets. His arrival likely pushed Owens out of the picture. Owens was slated to earn $960,000 this season but didn’t play a single snap in 2024 after appearing in just three games the year before. Curtis Bolton’s story is similar. Signed last July to a one-year deal worth $1.17 million, he barely made it out of training camp. First waived by the Dolphins in August, he joined Tennessee but never saw game action. Now, his NFL future hangs in the balance once again. As for Agim and Iton—neither logged any playing time in 2024 despite being under short-term contracts. The Titans’ front office clearly didn’t see enough promise to keep them around.

On the offensive side, WR Stanley Morgan and OL Logan Bruss were also cut. Morgan, who last caught a regular-season pass in 2022, played three games in 2023 but failed to record a single reception. Bruss, a 2022 fourth-round pick by the Rams, suited up in 2024 but failed to impress. With his rookie deal nearing its end, he’ll now need to earn another shot elsewhere—if at all.

It’s pretty clear what Brian Callahan is doing here—clearing the deck. Players who underperformed or didn’t play at all last season are being shown the door. After the Titans finished 3–14, there’s no room for mediocrity. With the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft in hand, Callahan is focused on building a new culture, and it starts with accountability.

And speaking of that No. 1 pick… Cam Ward is looking more and more like the guy. The Titans have invited him for a private workout, and he also seems set to join the franchise. Ward almost confirmed that he’s gonna be No. 1 overall in a recent podcast. Let’s jump in to know what he said.

Will Cam Ward definitely be Brian Callahan’s No. 1 pick?

If you’re still wondering who the Titans are eyeing with their top draft pick, Ward himself might’ve just spilled the beans—mid-Fortnite. In a recent livestream, the Miami quarterback was asked which running backs he likes in the NFL. His response? “Tony Pollard… [Tyjae] Spears.” Both of whom play for the Titans. Not exactly a subtle hint.

The dots are connecting fast. Ward reportedly had a solid meeting with Callahan’s team during his Pro Day and was later invited to Tennessee’s facilities for a private workout. When asked about the visit, Ward kept it light but telling: “See you next month,” he said with a smirk.

In his post-visit interview, Ward didn’t hold back. “I’m solidifying it today. They finally got to see me throw in person… That should be all they need to see,” he said. “But at the end of the day, I’m going to be happy with whatever team I go to… I’m just trying to play football.” Of course, Ward played it safe by keeping the door open. But his body language—and his shoutout to the Titans’ backfield—told the real story. He’s ready to swap that Miami orange for Titans blue.

Right now, it feels like a done deal. The Titans hold the No. 1 pick. They’ve hosted Cam Ward privately. He’s openly referencing their roster on livestreams. And most importantly, Tennessee is in desperate need of a fresh face under center. If nothing changes between now and April 24, expect Roger Goodell to announce Cam Ward as the newest member of the Tennessee Titans.

Until then, all eyes are on Callahan’s next move. The rebuild is in full swing, and Cam Ward may just be the first brick in the new foundation.
