The Super Bowl does not only bring the festivities with it. For players such as the San Francisco 49ers’ QB Brock Purdy, it can mean a big payday. The criminally underpaid QB has already racked up a ton of incentive payments. But that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t want to add to that tally.

QB Purdy has set the league on fire in just his second year as a pro. And reaching the Super Bowl for the ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ of the 2022 NFL Draft is nothing short of inspirational. But a Super Bowl victory would be a cherry on top!

Brock Purdy can have some funds

Purdy is still under his rookie contract, earning a meager salary of $870k per year in an era where top QBs earn well above $50 million in a year. Such as his counterpart in the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs will be taking approximately $59 million this year. But Purdy has a chance to earn extra cash.

The 24-year-old QB has already earned $169,000 by qualifying for each round of the playoffs. Including their bye week due to the no. 1 seed position in the NFC. But he can earn close to that, in just one game!

For Super Bowl victory, each member of the 49ers squad is set to make $164,000 extra, including Purdy. And the payout will be $89,000 if they end up losing. Hence, Purdy will be extra motivated to earn this incentive pay at the Super Bowl, but it won’t be easy.

Can the 49ers overcome the challenge of the Chiefs?

Four years ago, the 49ers handed the Super Bowl over to the Chiefs. However, Purdy was not a part of that squad. And he’ll be looking for redemption!

Even though Purdy’s last outing against the Chiefs wasn’t fruitful as well. Coming off the bench in the last quarter, Purdy couldn’t make much difference in the regular season fixture. And the Chiefs won 44-23.
