In a candid conversation with the media ahead of the 49ers’ game against the Lions, QB Brock Purdy delved deeper into his mindset for game preparation. He emphasized the importance of a fresh perspective. Purdy remarked, “It doesn’t matter if you play good or bad; you can’t really take any of that with you the next week.”

He highlighted the dynamic nature of each game, noting that “It’s a new game, new scheme, new environment.” Also, Purdy believes in the necessity of resetting after each matchup, asserting, “It’s almost like you got to clean the slate, learn from the mistakes.” Then, he added, “Build off of the good things you’ve done.” 

He also acknowledged the mental challenges faced by NFL quarterbacks. Purdy said, “That’s the mental battle that I feel like all the NFL quarterbacks go through.” He concluded by emphasizing the significance of this mindset in distinguishing the great players, stating, “I think that’s where the great ones really separate themselves from the others.”
