The 2024 NFL Draft class was historic, with six quarterbacks taken in the first round. Unsurprisingly, there have been endless comparisons among them, from stats to overall performances. The debates have been intense. Now, former Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib has joined the conversation, taking some pointed shots at quarterback Jayden Daniels while praising QB Bo Nix.

“Bo dominate them boys in his class,” he said. “All he did was get to the league, take his team to the playoffs, and now his team looking like one of the best teams in the AFC.”

He praised his work ethic and how Nix has been able to stay healthy and present for the Broncos. When asked if he would pick the Broncos QB over the Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, he didn’t hesitate.”He’s sophomore slumping.” Said Talib. “Injuries is part of sophomore slumping. Where’s Bo? Bo is available? Bo is starting in every game. Bo take care of his body in the off-season, so that’s why he’s available. “

Upon finding out that Daniels has better numbers than Bo in their draft class, Talib refused to budge. “No, it’s not. Bo got more everything. I’m taking Bo. He’s the best quarterback of his draft class.”

Last year, Nix had an impressive rookie year, leading the Broncos to the playoffs and finishing just behind Daniels with 328.2 fantasy points, about 37 shy of the Top 5. It might be too soon to predict the QBs this season.

As for now, Nix has thrown for 1,803 yards (8th in the league) with 15 touchdowns, 5 interceptions. On the other hand, Daniels has thrown for 1,031 yards (28th), 8 touchdowns (T-22nd), just 1 interception (T-27th), and holds a 50.9 QBR (20th).

In their young NFL careers, Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix have both established themselves as promising franchise quarterbacks, but with distinctly different styles and trajectories, especially when examining their rookie campaigns in 2024.

Daniels, Washington’s dual-threat sensation, made an immediate splash, leading the Commanders to a 12-5 record as a full-time starter. His efficiency was elite for a rookie, completing 69% of his passes for 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just nine interceptions. Beyond the numbers, his poise and decision-making earned him Pro Bowl honors and AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, while even cracking the MVP voting. His ability to extend plays and add a rushing dimension made Washington’s offense dynamic and unpredictable.

Nix, meanwhile, took a more traditional quarterback route with the Broncos. In 2024, he threw for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns while completing 66.3% of his passes, guiding Denver to a 10-7 finish. Though his numbers were slightly less efficient than Daniels’, Nix showcased elite command in Sean Payton’s offense, particularly with his pocket presence and quick decision-making. He finished third in AP Offensive Rookie of the Year voting, proving himself as a steady, accurate passer capable of elevating his team’s rhythm-based scheme.

While Daniels’ rookie year was defined by explosive playmaking and leadership, Nix’s was marked by precision and maturity. Two very different quarterbacks, both have validated their teams’ faith, Daniels as a modern dual-threat star, and Nix as a cerebral, high-floor field general.

However, there has been one aspect that can be a blessing for any team. And that is health. Nix had no major injuries this season. The entire Broncos roster has had fewer injuries.

On the other hand, Daniels sustained a hamstring injury in the game against the Dallas Cowboys. He missed the last game against the Kansas City Chiefs. And soon, the team, which had a decent start, fell to a 3 game losing streak. However, for a comparison of all the QBs from the 2024 draft class, we must wait a little longer.

Meanwhile, the Broncos QB has continued to gain praise for his performance.

Is Peyton Manning’s prediction on Bo Nix right?

The NFL legend Peyton Manning spoke highly of the Broncos’ QB. Just as the regular season had kicked off, the QB claimed that head coach Sean Payton and the squad had found the right player. He believes that the QB is mature and that he can help lead the Broncos.

“Bo is made of the right stuff. He’s a little bit older, carries himself the right way,” Manning told Troy Renck. “And all of it should help as he moves forward in his career. I am just happy that Bo is the established starter. For a number of years, they had quarterback competitions. Now, they’ve got their guy.”

Nix brought a massive college experience with a record 61 starts. He finished his NCAA career among the all-time greats, ranking second in total yards (16,965), fourth in total touchdowns (152), and 17th in passing touchdowns (113).

That experience clearly played a part. And Nix will look to build on his experience from his college years and his rookie season as he leads the team in its push for another playoff run.
