The Denver Broncos’ reporter Zac Stevens recently shared a unique souvenir from his early career endeavors. Well, it was a rejection letter from none other than Bill Belichick. Stevens, now a successful Broncos reporter, once ambitiously sought opportunities within NFL teams during college.

Among numerous responses, one stood out distinctly. He mentioned, “This is the coolest rejection letter I’ve ever received,” as it was hand-signed. It was a letter from the Patriots. Belichick started his rejection letter by saying, “Thank you very much for your letter and interest in a position with the New England Patriots.” He then wrote, “I respect and admire the effort you are making to have a career in our league.” Despite stating, “Unfortunately, at the present time we have no openings,” Belichick encouraged persistence.

He said, “While competition is fierce, I encourage you to continue following the path you desire.” After reflecting on the letter nearly a decade later, Stevens expressed gratitude for the encouragement, citing Belichick as the 🐐 (Greatest of All Time). He mentioned, “Nearly 10 years later, I still think it’s too cool that Bill Belichick signed this.” Meanwhile, Bill won’t be the coach for the Patriots anymore.
