Deshaun Watson has been juking injuries like a seasoned running back, but the gridiron gods threw a curveball his way. The Cleveland Browns’ maestro of the pigskin took a hit on his throwing hand earlier in the season and the result? A trip straight to Injury Town. Watson had to call a timeout, missing all but a blink-and-you-miss-it quarter in four crucial matchups, nursing a pesky rotator cuff strain in his throwing shoulder. Now, the playbook’s flipped, and it’s surgery season for Watson. He’s opting for the ultimate Hail Mary – a season-ending surgery to patch up that prized throwing shoulder and prevent any more architectural disasters.

The post featured a picture of Watson in action and a statement from the Browns. It read, “Deshaun Watson underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) Monday on two injuries sustained on different plays in the first half of Sunday’s 33-31 win over the Baltimore Ravens…Despite performing at a high level and finishing the game, after consultation with Browns’ Head Physician, James Voos, MD, and industry-leading shoulder specialist, Neal ElAttrache, MD, it has been determined that this injury will require immediate surgical repair to avoid further structural damage. Deshaun will be placed on season-ending injured reserve and a full recovery is expected for the start of the 2024 season” Looks like Aaron Rodgers has been sharing his doctor’s number with the NFL elite.
