And according to Nick Pedone of the 92.3 The Fan, “They’re trying to find a path forward, and now that they’re losing, and now that you’re hearing things from national people.”

NFL insiders report a growing strain and damaged trust between the two executives. The rift widened after the controversial trade of Joe Flacco and the subsequent handling of the quarterback depth chart.

The fracture is evident in the results the franchise has produced. The offense struggled under a rotating quarterback scheme, as Cleveland lost 23-9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers without making it to the end zone. The Browns consistently lost scoring opportunities and late-game chances due to questionable playcalling and lineup turnover.

Insider Charles Robinson said, “He wanted to make sure he had a veteran in his No. 2 position to support role, and now that guy is playing for the Bengals. This feels like there’s a tiny bit of separation now between the head coach and general manager.”

The issue is further complicated by the roster situation. Since Flacco is no longer with the Browns, Shedeur Sanders is frequently inactive, and Dillon Gabriel is listed as a starter. Confusion and lack of consistency result from the team’s switching backups, trade for Kenny Pickett, and ongoing salary obligations to several quarterbacks.

Numbers underline the urgency. Cleveland ranks near the bottom in points scored at 13.7 per game. Also ranks poorly in rushing with 90.7 yards per game while allowing 24.3 points. Those gaps expose both offensive predictability and defensive lapses.

Titans’ potential move to open the door for Kevin Stefanski

The Tennessee Titans, after a 1-5 start, created a key vacancy that could reshape the coaching market. Internal discussions revolve around experienced replacements, including Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.

“And if you asked me out of that group, who could end up in Tennessee? Maybe Stefan could. But I also think Stefan knows ‘if I get another shot after Cleveland, it better be good one because I can’t suffer this twice’. I can’t go into two bad organizations, in terms of like the ownership and like what the sum of the parts end up being,” Charles Robinson said on 1025 The Game.

Stefanski makes sense for Tennessee given his offensive track record. He directed top 10 rushing offenses for several seasons and effectively groomed quarterbacks despite Cleveland’s problems. Stefanski has managed roster control and discipline in Cleveland, two qualities Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk is looking for.

“He’s going to leave the organization; he’s going to do great. Sometimes you just need to get away from the dysfunction to be what you can be,” Robinson added.

Tennessee’s current statistics reveal serious issues. With an average of just 17.1 points per game, the team is 27th in terms of overall offense and concedes 25.4 points on defense. In seven games, the offensive line has given up 22 sacks.

Stefanski’s transfer to Nashville would provide both sides with atonement. Stefanski takes over a youthful roster in need of direction, while the Titans acquire an expert tactician.
