The Cleveland Brows are struggling this season (2-5). After a much-needed win against the Miami Dolphins (31-6), things look better… at least for now. With the NFL trade deadline approaching, Kevin Stefanski might want to make some tough choices. While their roster shake-up could bring new hope, the latest buzz suggests that three players might be on the trading block. Here’s the lowdown on possible roster changes for the Browns.

According to The Athletic’s Zac Jackson, the Ohio-based team is likely to make deals with other teams in the AFC North division. The franchise isn’t dead set on trading just anyone and looks for strategic and far-sighted contracts. Yet, the coach might decide on players who are definitely on their way out. These include defensive end Alex Wright, tight end David Njoku, and running back Jerome Ford.

Trading Njoku would be an obvious decision. The 29-year-old is currently in the final season of a $54 million four-year contract. If the Browns don’t act in time, he may walk in free agency. As for Alex Wright, the defensive end is also in his last year of his4-yearr contract that was signed in 2022. But what about the RB, Jerome Ford?

The running back is not doing good this season. With 0 touchdowns and just 73 rushing yards on his stat list, the Browns have Quinshon Judkins standing out as the team’s top running back. The 21-year-old rookie seems to be playing well.

Of the 6 games he has played in, Judkins has scored 5 rushing touchdowns and has gained 467 rushing yards. He clearly appears to be outperforming Ford. Kevin Stefanski would happily trade Ford if they came across a decent offer. Currently, many teams are hunting running backs, especially the Los Angeles Chargers.

The team had to move Omarion Hampton and Najee Harris to injured reserve. Kimani Vidal has filled in for the duo, but his inconsistency remains a matter of concern for the Chargers. Amid all the potential roster changes, one may wonder how Myles Garrett fits into the plan.

Can Kevin Stefanski make Myles stay?

Defensive end Myles Garrett is known for speaking his mind. His personal goals have clashed with the team’s desire to retain him earlier this year. The player revealed that his desire to compete for a Super Bowl runs deeper than his love for Cleveland.

“These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today… With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns,” he said. While the trade didn’t materialise then, it may not materialise now.

Yep, Cleveland won’t even consider trading its star defender unless the offer includes at least three first-round picks. While the demand may seem unrealistic, it is what it is. Out of the 7 games he has played so far, Garett has recorded 5 sacks and 16 solo tackles.

The Browns clearly need him at the moment, and while they hope for Myles Garrett to stay, it’ll take consistent wins to make him truly believe in the team.
