Kevin Stefanski has not commented on the Quarterback change after a terrible loss to the Detroit Lions. The Cleveland Browns are currently 1-3, with Sheduer still on the sidelines waiting for his moment, and Joe Flacco reportedly benched during the week 4 fixture. According to the Cleveland Browns, the roster has undergone a revamp for week 5.

Cedric Tillman will be on the field after sustaining a hamstring injury last week against the Lions, and CB Cameron Mitchell has been waived for week 5. Tillman is crucial in providing support to QB Joe Flacco and building their chemistry, as well as playing alongside Jerry Jeudy. Tillman caught 11 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns while playing in the first four games.

The two other signings include WR Malachi Corley and WR Gage Larvadain from the practice squad. Western Kentucky native Corley (5-11, 215) is starting his second NFL season. The Jets first chose him in the third round of the 2024 draft. In his career, Corley has made nine appearances. He will be wearing the No. 83. Larvadain (5-8, 171) is a South Carolina rookie. Larvadain was inactive for the Browns’ Week 1 game after being signed by the team as an undrafted free agent. His number will be 84.

And adding to the practice squad is CB Ameer Speed. After graduating from Michigan State, Speed (6-3, 215) is in his third NFL season. Speed, who was first chosen by New England in the sixth round of the 2023 draft, has played in 15 games during his career with the Bears (2024), Patriots (2023), and Colts (2023). His number will be 27.

The Browns suffer a 34-10 loss to the Detroit Lions

Cleveland’s poor week was characterized by costly turnovers and halted drives, as they lost 34-10 to a disappointing 3-1 on the season. Joe Flacco, the quarterback, had trouble finding his rhythm and only completed 16 of 34 passes for 184 yards and two interceptions.

“I understand the question, especially when we are struggling the way we are on offense. But that’s not our focus right now. To have any success on either side of the ball, you need to play well and play together. Right now, we have too many things going wrong, and we all own that. It isn’t because of one player,” Stefanski said after the loss.

The Lions’ pass rush was too strong for Cleveland’s offensive line to handle. Andre Szmyt, a rookie kicker, had a 56-yard field goal attempt that would have reduced the Lions’ lead to one score. Szmyt’s botched kick kept Cleveland behind by two possessions during a season marred by special teams problems.

The game was still within reach even though the Browns were behind 20-10 with roughly 14 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Jerry Jeudy would have gained at least 28 yards after a fantastic ball from quarterback Joe Flacco. Rather, Jeudy failed to make the pass, which increased his season-long series of mistakes.

Cleveland’s failure to defend the football and perform well under duress was made clear by the loss. The Lions outscored Cleveland 34-3 in the final 50 minutes. The Browns are under increasing pressure to make amends for the loss before their next game. The questionable offense still struggles as Kevin Stefanski does not seem to have a reliable fix for it.
