Myles Garrett right now is in red-hot form. In eight games, he’s sitting on 10 sacks. That’s tied for the league lead with the New York Giants’ Brian Burns. The Dawg Pound is buzzing, and so is the entire NFL. Amid all of this, now Rob Gronkowski had a few things to say about the Browns’ wrecking machine. And yes, there’s a twist to it.

On The Up & Adams Show, host Kay Adams dropped her “Halloween hot take,” calling Myles Garrett “the scariest player in the current NFL.” Gronk didn’t hesitate to agree.

“He loves Halloween. He dresses up as scary. You know as scary costumes and scary characters, movie characters and all that good stuff for Halloween. And he’s also the scariest player on the field. Five sacks last week.” But then, the tone shifted.

Gronk’s admiration turned into frustration, not with Garrett’s talent, but with how little it’s been rewarded.

“I mean, it sucks him (Myles), and Maxx Crosby to see like never to make the playoffs. Such great players at defensive end. He had five sacks for his, Myles Garrett, five sacks last week, and they still got destroyed by the Patriots. Like he’s the scariest defender though at that defensive end position,” he said.

But first, let’s talk about Garrett’s Halloween obsession. The Browns’ star takes spooky season seriously. He’s promised that his 2025 costume will be his best yet. Still, fans remember his 2022 Vecna look from Stranger Things as a standout, with last year’s Terminator costume close behind. Off the field, he is all about creativity, but on the field?

He is pure terror. Twenty-two solo tackles, nine assists, and ten sacks through eight games speak for themselves.

Gronkowski also gave a nod to Las Vegas Raiders’ defensive end Maxx Crosby. And just like Garrett, Crosby’s been haunting backfields. In seven games, he has posted 18 solo tackles, 10 assists, four sacks, and even snagged one interception. Even his next opponent, Trevor Lawrence, couldn’t help but show respect.

“Really good player. Very good. He’s one of those guys; there’s a handful of them in this league. I mean a lot of great players in this league, but as far as just those defensive edge, defensive end, pass rusher guys, he’s just constant nonstop,” the Jaguars’ QB said.

But again, Cosby is having the same situation as Garrett. But not just the playoff snub, both are also on the trade rumors too.

Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby’s future is in limbo

Back in February, Myles Garrett made headlines when he reportedly asked for a move to a Super Bowl contender. The Browns, however, responded with money instead of movement. Garrett landed a record-breaking extension averaging $40 million per year, including a staggering $123.5 million guaranteed.

That deal made him one of the richest non-quarterbacks in the league. But now, months later, the whispers are back.

Even with Garrett proving he’s one of the most dominant defensive forces in football, the Browns are sitting at a frustrating 2-6. Naturally, trade talks have started to heat up again. But according to insider Akron Jackson, there’s not much to it.

“The ship sailed when it didn’t happen last February. The way the contract is laid out, it would be a $41 million dead hit for next year, which is a ton to talk about.”

Meanwhile, in Sin City, Maxx Crosby’s situation isn’t much different.

He has heard his name pop up in trade chatter all week. When asked about it at his locker, he refused to address it. He signed a three-year, $106.5 million extension back in March. However, Raiders owner Mark Davis made his stance crystal clear.

“I don’t know how many times I’ve got to say it. It’s really hard to keep getting asked the same question every month or week or whatever when the answer’s going to stay the same. I don’t know why anybody would think I’d change my mind or the organization would.”

So now let’s see how both Garrett and Crosby’s futures go from here.
