The Cleveland Browns are desperate to turn things around in the AFC North. Currently, they are sitting at the bottom with a 2-6 record. Needless to say, the team is hunting for answers. This could be a perfect chance for Shilo Sanders, who’s been searching for a regiment for the past few months, to make his comeback and reunite with his brother Shedeur, as Cleveland eyes a potential replacement before the trade deadline.

The Browns have released safety Damontae Kazee and acquired tight end Brenden Bates and cornerback Tre Avery. After trading veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals and handing over the keys of the offense to Dillon Gabriel, the Browns are seemingly eyeing some youth for their squad before the trade deadline. This could be the perfect opportunity for Shilo to get into the NFL. Experts view the Browns as the potential franchise to have openings for some talent, even though their playoff contention appears blurry.

“While Cleveland already has completed three trades in the past month — acquiring offensive tackle Cam Robinson, sending quarterback Joe Flacco to Cincinnati, and swapping cornerbacks with Jacksonville — most sources believe that the Browns will be buyers more than sellers before the deadline,” Schefter wrote on Saturday.

Apart from safety, Grant Delpit, the Browns have suffered in the defensive runs, and Shilo can be a suitable option to be considered there. The undrafted free agent was cut during the preseason after he punched the Bills‘ tight end Zach Davidson while playing for the Buccaneers. It would certainly be interesting to see if Cleveland would want to go ahead with the season with the Sanders brothers after a series of roster shuffles this season.

Browns’ roster shuffle aims to stay relevant

The Browns’ recent roster moves show a mix of urgency and strategy…they’re fixing weak spots while trying not to mess with team chemistry in a tough AFC North race. The Joe Flacco move, though, hasn’t exactly paid off the way fans hoped. Ironically, he’s thriving with Cincinnati, putting up 9 touchdowns and a 66.4 QBR in just three games, with his completion rate jumping to 64.6% compared to 58.8% in Cleveland.

At the moment, the Browns are staying cautious, avoiding massive shakeups and instead are trying to make smart, targeted moves. They’ve traded for offensive tackle Cam Robinson and added depth in the secondary, hoping to patch coverage issues that have hurt them this season. Only a few practice squad changes have been made, keeping the main core intact for a playoff push.

Right now, the focus is clear. To tighten up the safety and cornerback play, protect Dillon Gabriel better, and build a more balanced backfield to keep the offense steady down the stretch.

Cleveland will be coming after a bye week on November 9 to take the gridiron against the New York Jets with some new faces on the roster. If Shilo could make it to Cleveland, he would have much to prove, which would certainly decide his future with the franchise and  with the NFL.
