Cedric Tillman was out of the game for the week 4 fixture between the Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions. In week 3, the Browns recorded their first win against the Green Bay Packers. The Browns rallied 13 points and took the lead, with a game-changing and only turnover. The costly mistake by Jordan Love gave momentum to the Browns as safety Grant Delpit picked up yards.

Tillamn entered the game with previous hand and hip issues. With veteran Joe Flacco at quarterback, the Browns’ offense is still struggling to find its footing, and Tillman emerged as a legitimate WR2 to Jerry Jeudy. Tillman had a team-high two touchdown grabs and ten catches for 100 yards going into Week 4.

Cedric Tillman left the field and went into the medical tent for evaluation. But in his absence, Isaiah Bond, Jamari Thrash, and DeAndre Carter are available to handle WR snaps that don’t go to Jerry Jeudy.
Zac Jackson of The Athletic confirmed, “Cedric Tillman just came out of the injury tent. Jogging behind the sideline now.” The hope of his going back on the field was quickly snatched as Mary Kay Cabot reported, “Browns Ced Tillman to the locker room. He was earlier evaluated for a hamstring in the tent.”

As we all know, heading to the locker room during a game has never been a good sign. Officials soon after confirmed, “Browns Tillman is out for the game with his hamstring injury.”
The coaches left him out of this game due to the lingering injuries. As recurring damage can lead to long-term future complications.
“It was more frustrating because I was ready to take off,” Cedric Tillman said previously after missing a few days due to a right thumb injury.
In the previous season, Tillman had already missed six games, and Tillman’s reputation has taken another blow. Tillman was ready to support his QB Joe Flacco and recreate the chemistry from 2023 and 2024. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound WR once again faces limitations.
Injuries pause breakthrough for Tillman
Persistent hand and hip injuries limited Cedric Tillman’s participation in both Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practices. Due to those injuries, coaches cut short his midweek workouts for a while. Despite these limitations, he did not have an official injury designation going into Sunday’s game.
“It’s time to step up,” Tillman told the Brownszone earlier this week.
Reports say the hand injury limited his participation in catching and ball-security drills. Although less often described, the hip problem probably made it more difficult for him to move during route running and change-of-direction exercises.

“Things can change from today to tomorrow, so I’m always going to be motivated. But obviously it did feel good, but I’ve got to go out there and show people what I can do,” the 25-year-old added.
The Tennessee player selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft caught 26 passes for 330 yards in five games before suffering a concussion against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. He was inactive for the following three games, hardly played in the first four, and finished with 21 receptions for 224 yards and no touchdowns. To complement Jerry Jeudy, the Browns thought Tillman would be a No. 2 receiver.
