The New England Patriots fans are fired up! Last week, Las Vegas Raiders’ tackle Kolton Miller didn’t show up for voluntary workouts. And soon, trade rumors lit up X. Miller’s in the last year of his deal, and Vegas hasn’t even picked up the phone to talk extension. That was wild, considering he’s been one of the best left tackles out there. Meanwhile, in Mike Vrabel’s team, the need at that position couldn’t be louder, and guess what? It has been decided!

With young QB Drake Maye in the building, everyone knows you need a rock-solid veteran protecting his blindside. So naturally, fans dreamed big—picturing Vrabel welcoming Miller. But the moment the Patriots announced their pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, shock rippled through the fanbase.

Mike Vrabel and the Pats stunned everyone by selecting LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell with the fourth overall pick. That’s not just high—it’s the highest among any LSU offensive lineman’s draft. Campbell arrived with plenty of hype, and so far, he’s lived up to every bit of it.

Day one on campus, he locked down the left tackle spot and never looked back. He started in 38 games, and didn’t let anyone touch Jayden Daniels during that Heisman run. So, of course, that’s wild.

In fact, Campbell was All-SEC, All-American, and even wore LSU’s iconic No. 7 patch – something linemen just don’t get. But he earned it. Now, he’s off to New England, ready to protect Drake Maye’s blindside, and honestly, it just feels right. However, for the fans of the Foxborough team, this decision by Mike Vrabel has left them frustrated.

Fans got no chill on calling out Mike Vrabel for Will Campbell!

Will Campbell is the newest Patriot player. When asked what was behind his ear-to-ear grin after being drafted, the athlete broke into tears. The LSU product said, “Just all the hard work. I worked my entire life to be up here. To be able to get my name called by a franchise like New England, it means everything to me.” Although this exciting update meant everything for the rookie OT and coach Mike Vrabel, for fans, it seems like a disaster. Why?

What’s your perspective on:

Is Mike Vrabel's draft decision a stroke of genius or a colossal mistake for the Patriots?

Have an interesting take?

Well, it’s especially because of Campbell’s short arms, as one wrote: “Short arms. He’ll be a bust!” Campbell’s arm length was the talk of the town since the NFL scouting combine. His arm length measured as 32 5/8 inches, with a wingspan of 77 3/8 inches.

Hence, another fan commented, “Ruining the draft,” as they expected much better from Mike Vrabel and the team. Others too clearly expressed the failure of new Patriots coach Vrabel by saying, “Annoying bro,” or with a somewhat sarcastic tone like, “*deep sigh* Thank you Jerod for winning a meaningless game in January.” Fans have definitely not forgotten the Pats’ week 18 win over the Bills that pushed them to number 4 in the NFL Draft 2025.

Another Patriots’ fan seemed upset with the choice of pick, as they straightaway said, “Stop spoiling picks,” or “You’re spoiling it (with crying emoji).” Besides these, there was one fan who expressed grief as they wished earlier that nothing like that should happen in New England. But as the Pats selected Campbell, they dropped a comment saying, “I used to pray for times like this…to not happen. My work here has failed. We will forever s–ck.” Another one chimed in on this writing, “That s-cks. Alright, a bad draft. Now some crappy receiver that will be a bust.” No doubt that was a bit disappointing.

It’s clear fans are not happy with Mike Vrabel and the Patriots’ decision to pick Will Campbell. Anyway, they have decided. We can just wait to see what results it brings in the games of this year!
