The tables might have turned, but Shedeur Sanders is still getting his piece of cake. When Travis Hunter debuted as the Sanders family’s “other son” back in 2022, no one anticipated the path he’d take over the next three years. Yet, here we are three years later with a Heisman Trophy in hand, and a 4-year rookie contract worth $46.65 million (with a $30.6 million signing bonus) with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The two-way superstar, though, is hardly concerned about the money, opting to “go out there and do my job, be Travis Hunter” instead.

And this is not new. Even while flaunting a dazzling NIL portfolio worth a staggering $5.2 million, it was never about bringing in the cash. In Deion Sanders’ own words, “You know [Travis] receives no NIL from the collective, and he’s one of the biggest donors to the collective? He’s paying a lot of other people’s NIL on this team.” Now that’s a sacrifice worth headlines. Interestingly, what’s also worth headlines (for exactly the opposite reason) is Sanders’ real son and Hunter’s former teammate, Shedeur Sanders’ relationship with money.

It’s not the first time that the Cleveland Browns QB’s spending habits have landed him in trouble. Barely two years ago, as a fresh-faced Colorado Buffaloes signal caller who was supposed to focus on his craft, Shedeur drummed up headlines for his newest obsession: A Rolls-Royce Cullinan, priced north of $300,000 back then. Let’s just say, Tom Brady was hardly impressed. When prodded by Coach Prime to straighten his son out, the retired seven-time Super Bowl champ had warned, “I think he needs to get his a– in the film room and spend as much time in there as possible.” Well, Shedeur bought it anyway. He even doubled down a couple of days ago.

Practically dissing both Brady and his own $447,380 signing bonus from the Browns’ $4.6 million contract, the 23-year-old splurged like there’s no tomorrow. His self-care ritual this time? A new $500,000 worth olive green custom Rolls-Royce Phantom. As per a tweet by Dov Kleiman on May 25, “Inspirational: Browns star rookie QB Shedeur Sanders bought himself a custom Rolls-Royce worth over $500K. Despite being drafted in the 5th round, Sanders had performed phenomenally thus far in Cleveland. A much-deserved gift to himself 👏.” Notably, this is not even all.

The youngest Sanders’ garage is adorned with another Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 worth up to $200,000, a 2022 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat available from somewhere between 80,000 to $100,000, a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray for $60,000-$80,000, a Tesla Cybertruck priced at around $100,000, and a Lamborghini Urus worth $240,000-$275,000. Well, that’s quite the extravagance. Well, wait it you hear further.

Who can forget Shedeur Sanders’ gifts to his own brother and a teammate? While he gifted a Tesla Cybertruck to his Shilo Sanders, Colorado Buffaloes offensive lineman Jordan Seaton got showered with a $200,000 Mercedes-Maybach, in December last year, for his strong performance. “He protect the backside so he had to get the ‘bach,” Sanders had said at the time. What’s more?

Even during the draft, Shedeur was spotted wearing a massive diamond chain and flashing a million-dollar cash case. Then, at Browns minicamp, he pulled up in a casual Legendary suit—another low-key flex.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Shedeur Sanders' love for luxury cars a sign of confidence or misplaced priorities?

Have an interesting take?

Unfortunately, though, Sanders’ latest flash hasn’t gone down well with fans.

Shedeur Sanders gets a reality check

Although he impressed the Browns staff with his work ethic and talent, Shedeur Sanders is not the starter yet. One fan referenced Tom Brady‘s advice and mentioned, “Hmmmm… I wonder why the Raiders didn’t draft him…. HmmmmGiants HC Brian Daboll had then said that the rookie did not study their playbook carefully. Now we know where he spent time before the draft. Customizing his cars. Another fan laughed at his actions and mentioned, “This is why he fell to the 5th round 😂.”

Then there was another user who wrote, “Hold up, can bro really afford to be doing that 🤔”, while someone pointed out, So rather than hitting the field and studying the playbook + film, he’s spending his entire first year salary on a car? No wonder no GM wanted this kid 🤷‍♂️”.

Bluntly : very stupid. Waste of $,” the comment read. Another fan mentioned that Shedeur’s path would lead to bankruptcy and tweeted, “That’s how u go broke.” This fan’s message—“You just can’t fix stupid”—might’ve been the final nail in the coffin.

However, many fans point out that he’s earned enormous amounts through endorsement deals. And just like in practice, he might shock everyone once the season kicks off.
