Mike Florio recently wrote, “Any team that gives Shilo a shot needs to be ready for it to be a fair shot, because Deion has the public profile to call out anyone who doesn’t…” But he did get one. The Buccaneers gave Shilo Sanders a much-needed fair shot. After he fired his dad, Deion Sanders, as his agent, Shilo made some changes. He hired NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus to take up his reins. And with Rosenhaus’s efforts in reaching out to the Bucs, they made the call to sign Shilo Sanders.

And the Bucs HC Todd Bowles also has high hopes for Shilo Sanders when he said, “I’m excited to get him in here and see how he moves. I saw him tackle all year. I saw him make plays. He’s a very smart player and he understands the game very well. So we thought it was worth a shot to see what he can do, and I think he’ll show himself well.” So, now Shilo has a team that wants him and an opportunity to prove that he’s earned it. And sure enough, he’s been putting in the work for a long time now.

As per a video clip posted on X by JaKi, we can see two clips of Shilo Sanders running toe to toe with Antonio Brown, a former Super Bowl champ wide receiver who’s played with the Steelers, Patriots, and the Buccaneers. The clip also shows us Brown falling to the ground after being blocked by Shilo Sanders. The caption, “🔥Shilo Owning AB. The Real Clips😂” really says it all. But if you thought that it was all done and dusted, an NFL legend has weighed in on this clip with some sharp words of his own. – former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel.

Asante Samuel reposted the clip by JaKi with the caption, “Good work young fella… flaw a– ninja gone edit the clips to try and make Hommie look bad. That’s week af.” Translation: these clips only highlight Shilo’s best moments in the plays while omitting Brown’s highlights completely. Interestingly enough, hours before ‘The Real Clips’ were posted, Antonio Brown had shared a clip himself where he’s running routes and Shilo Sanders can’t keep up. The post was titled: “Deion using me to make his sorry a– sons look good #CTESPN”. Another similar clip was posted by CTESPN. In the clip, Shilo tried to block Brown’s route, but the WR simply pushed him out of the way. But guess what? These clips are from way back in 2019. And Shilo has been constantly putting in effort. He now has a chance to prove that his signing with the Bucs was no fluke.

Shilo Sanders’ all-in with the Bucs

Shilo Sanders couldn’t make it to the NFL combine. His younger brother’s draft stock plummeted, and he went undrafted. But all that’s already in the past. Both brothers are now a part of amazing NFL franchises, and have a chance to prove their haters wrong. HC Todd Bowles already knows what he sees in Shilo as he says, “I think he’s a good football player – He’s a heck of a tackler and he knows the game very well – So giving him a chance to play, we think he has a shot to help us from safety standpoint and from a special teams standpoint.” And Shilo? After his signing, he took to Instagram wearing a Bucs cap and posted a carousel with the words: “Thank you, God, for everything! & Thank you @buccaneers for believing in me”.

That’s not all, though. He’s also going to Florida early to gear up for the climate. Shilo Sanders went to CU to visit his old teammates before heading on to Tampa Bay. In a recent YouTube video showing him working out in CU, he also said, “I’m built for Florida.” He also hopes his dad’s genes kick in while he’s grinding away over there. “Hoping my Prime Time genetics kick in.” He has the determination and the drive. And he’s stepping up to make the most of the opportunity with the Bucs. Now, all that remains is to show the world that he’s earned it and prove the haters wrong.
