The Arizona Cardinals will face the Dallas Cowboys in week 9 with several key players either out or listed as questionable, and their defensive depth could be tested again this week. Quarterback Kyler Murray is under a lot of pressure as they are at the bottom of the NFC West with a 2-5 record. The injuries are a major roadblock.

Murray himself is the biggest name on the list, listed as questionable with a foot injury. He has completed 110 of 161 passes for 962 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions, while rushing for 173 yards and 1 touchdown on 29 carries. His limited practice status raises questions about his mobility and overall readiness for Monday’s game. If Kyler Murray can’t go, the Cardinals’ offensive rhythm could take a major hit against a strong Cowboys defense.

On the other hand, outside linebacker BJ Ojulari is ruled out with a knee injury. Although limited in practice, he won’t play Monday night. His absence removes one of Arizona’s rotational edge rushers, affecting their ability to generate pressure on the quarterback.

Cornerback Will Johnson is questionable due to a groin injury. He practiced in a limited role this week and has played in five games this season. So far, Johnson has recorded 13 tackles (9 solo) along with 5 passes defended. His presence will be important against Dallas’ deep passing attack.

Safety Kitan Crawford is also questionable with an ankle issue. He participated in limited practice sessions and has featured in six games this season. Crawford has made 8 tackles (5 solo) and 1 pass defended. His role in coverage could be key if the Cowboys spread the field with multiple receivers.

Cornerback Garrett Williams remains questionable with a knee injury. He was limited in practice this week and has played only two games so far. Williams has recorded 11 tackles ( 7 solo), with 1 pass defended. His absence will test the Cardinals’ secondary depth.

Defensive lineman Walter Nolen is also questionable with a calf problem. He took part in limited practices and has been an active part of Arizona’s rotation this year. They will miss his ability to disrupt the backfield if he doesn’t play.

The Cowboys also have a similar problem.

Kyler Murray’s counterpart is also dealing with an injury-hit locker room

HC Brian Schottenheimer will also miss key players. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown remains sidelined with a knee injury. He participated in limited practice sessions but has officially been ruled out. Overshown had an impressive 2024 season with 90 tackles (56 solo), 5 sacks, 1 interception, and 4 passes defended. His continued absence leaves a hole in the Cowboys’ second-level defense.

Safety Donovan Wilson will also miss the game with an elbow injury. He did not participate in practice all week. This is a significant loss for Dallas, as Wilson has 36 tackles (21 solo), 2 interceptions, and 3 passes defended this season, and plays a key role in their defensive backfield.

Middle linebacker Jack Sanborn is out with a groin injury after missing practice entirely. Sanborn has totaled 34 tackles (16 solo) and 1.5 tackles for loss this season, providing stability in run defense. His absence means increased responsibility for the younger linebackers.

On the offensive side, center Cooper Beebe is questionable with an ankle injury. He was a full participant in practice. Beebe has appeared in four games this season, and his presence helps maintain protection consistency for quarterback Dak Prescott.

Safety Juanyeh Thomas is also questionable after dealing with migraines during the week. He was a full participant in practice and has posted 22 tackles (10 solo) this season. The Cowboys expect him to be available barring any late setbacks.

Offensive tackle Ajani Cornelius is another name to watch, listed as questionable with a knee issue. He practiced on a limited basis and could be a game-time decision. Cornelius adds crucial depth to Dallas’ offensive line, which will face a Cardinals defense that relies heavily on blitz pressure.

With many players ruled out, it will be a test of the leadership of Kyler Murray vs Dak Prescott.
