While CeeDee Lamb finished training camp in Oxnard, his home in Fairview, Dallas, became the target of a crime. Just as a few NFL players have been before him, Lamb’s home was burglarized, with $300,000 in belongings stolen.

The incident was first reported by The Spit Bucket Podcast. Later, per Fairview Police Department records obtained by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the burglar stole more than $300,000 worth of property, including four luxury bags.
The burglar reportedly entered the home through a broken window. On July 31, a worker who was helping with renovations near Lamb’s home noticed the damage. After checking the house and seeing signs of a break-in, the worker called 9-1-1.
At the moment, the police do not have any suspects in Lamb’s case. The investigation is still going on as officers try to find out who broke into his home and stole the expensive items.
Lamb is the second known Cowboys player to have his home burglarized in the past three years. Defensive tackle Linval Joseph also had his home in Sunfish Lake, Minnesota, burglarized in November 2024. Lamb is just the most recent NFL player to become a victim of a home burglary. Other players who have faced similar incidents include Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Shedeur Sanders.
The problem has become more common around the NFL in recent years. Since 2024, seven people have been arrested and charged in connection with burglaries involving NFL players. In fact, it led the NFL to issue a security alert.
As per the security alert, these burglars use public records to find players’ addresses, conduct extensive surveillance, then track team schedules and the social media accounts of players and their families to gauge when the home will be empty. In the past, these burglars often entered homes during games, since most homes were empty at the time. However, in Lamb’s case, the burglar struck when he was in California for training camp.
The league, at the time, also asked players to be careful about sharing their location, especially when they are away from home. They also suggested using home security systems and keeping valuable items hidden so burglars are less likely to target their homes.
Just weeks after the alert arrived, Lamb’s teammate, Dak Prescott, spoke to ESPN about the other side of being famous.
“Not everything that comes with it [fame] is great. You weigh the good with the bad. What we’re subject to, that others can look up and just see how much we make or maybe an address, and that puts us subject to a target.”
And the authorities have made progress in finding those responsible for the burglaries in the past. A few weeks ago, a federal court officially requested the extradition of two Chilean nationals from Argentina who were involved in the ring targeting NFL players.
For now, Lamb will return to Fairview with the camp in Oxnard wrapped up and wait for the authorities to complete their investigation.
CeeDee Lamb staying strong on the field
CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens have built a solid relationship since Pickens joined the team. They are close friends and also work well together on the field.
Dak Prescott explained that both players are not fighting against each other. This helps them work together and makes the Cowboys’ offense stronger.
“Just their personalities, they’re truly unselfish,” Prescott said. “They truly want the other guy to have just as much success as each of them has individually; they’re cheering each other on.
They love to have fun, they love to compete, and I think just if you love the game of football and love to compete, the rest takes care of itself. We’re fortunate to have two guys like that who can put their egos to the side.”
Even though Lamb missed some games because of an ankle injury, he still finished the 2025 season with more than 1,000 receiving yards. He reached the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth season in a row.
