Back in May 2025, the Dallas Cowboys made one of the biggest additions to their roster in the form of wide receiver George Pickens. And right from the beginning of Pickens’ journey in Dallas, wide receiver Ceedee Lamb has shown his vote of confidence in him. He has expressed his feelings on multiple occasions.

When the news of Pickens joining the Cowboys was made public, Lamb took to X to write a cryptic message for the new team member. “Kid you not; can’t express it enough. It’s no ego here,” Lamb posted on X. Now, in week 5 of the NFL season, Lamb has again voiced his trust in him.
Today, Lamb took to Instagram to post a story featuring a series of photos and videos, mostly from the win against the New York Jets, 37-22, that took place last Sunday. In the story, he reshared an NFL post of George Pickens’ celebration of a touchdown with Marist Liufau when the Cowboys were leading 29-3. The NFL image featured text that read “George Pickens with 5th TD with Cowboys in 5 games.” And Lamb captioned the photo with “That guy! @1.issue”, tagging Picken’s official Instagram account.

In the game against the Jets, there were multiple standout performances. Dak Prescott threw for four touchdowns, Javonte Williams added 135 yards and a touchdown, and the surprise star Ryan Flournoy exploded with 114 receiving yards. George also joined the list, recording 2 receptions for 57 yards and 1 touchdown, averaging 28.5 yards per catch. He succeeded in breaking free from Gardner for an electrifying 43-yard touchdown catch that sealed Dallas’ triumph. It allowed the Cowboys to reach 30-3 in the third quarter.

But apart from his spectacles in the Sunday game, the NFL post that Lamb shared mentioned Pickens’ TD streak. Well, his touchdown in five consecutive games is the longest touchdown streak of his career. Throughout the NFL season, George Pickens has proved why Ceedee Lamb was so positive and excited about his arrival.
As of now, Pickens has caught 23 passes for 357 yards and has had 5 TDs, averaging an impressive 15.5 yards per reception. This forced the injured Lamb to post a story about Pickens’ performance and stats.
Although everything seems to be going in the right direction for Pickens, there is one aspect of his current journey that he should be worried about.
Pickens might be fined again
In Sunday’s game, Dak Prescott connected with George Pickens on a deep 43-yard TD pass. Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner was in the right coverage but failed to stop the catch, resulting in a touchdown. Everything looked fine until Pickens celebrated the TD.
As Pickens got up, he made a celebratory gesture while pointing at Gardener. It looked like Pickens was taunting Gardner, and that could result in his 2nd league punishment, as he has been in a similar situation in the past, where he was fined for his post-touchdown celebration.

Pickens was fined $14,491 for unsportsmanlike conduct/violent gesture, along with Lamb. It was because of Pickens and Lamb’s celebration in the game against the New York Giants. When Pickens scored to give the Cowboys the lead with 52 seconds left, both he and Lamb celebrated the moment with a finger-gun gesture, and that led to his season’s first NFL punishment. And now, it looks like he is on his way to enter the list again.
Whether it was during Lamb’s tenure with the team or after he was sidelined due to injury, Pickens has demonstrated his ability to take on significant roles when needed. He has contributed significantly to the Cowboys’ success in the season, and his 5 touchdowns are a clear sign of that. But he should lower the tone of his touchdown celebrations; otherwise, he might end up setting a record for the league’s fines.
