There’s a lot of hype around Russell Wilson’s move to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Broncos-turned-Steelers QB recently uploaded a workout video that had fans salivating at the thought of seeing him play in the upcoming season. Pat McAfee shared his thoughts on the QB’s workouts and had nothing but praises to sing about him.

Things, however, couldn’t be different from Shannon Sharpe’s point of view. The Hall of Fame TE is still unimpressed by Wilson’s workout and lets it out in the latest edition of his Nightcap podcast with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. The video shows a resurrected Wilson with a new hairstyle and rocking the signature black and yellow. The hosts, moreover, had a clashing view on this.

Sharpe pointed out how people were making fun of the QB for having a new haircut and sunglasses and showing them off in his backyard while practicing. Shannon Sharpe asked Chad Johnson, “Ocho, why do guys feel they need to post their videos?”

Ocho was quick to defend the Steelers QB and said that Wilson is just trying to channel his enthusiasm and showing people his “technique, pocket presence, basic fundamentals” and such. Per Johnson, this is Wilson’s way of letting the Steelers squad know he’s willing to put the work in. Ocho also shared how social media worked differently previously and instead uploaded his workout videos on YouTube.

For one, the hosts were on the same page about how social media is a huge part of everyone’s life, let alone an athlete. Ocho, more so, was of the belief that the workout video gave fans an insight into Wilson’s personal life. “You don’t like it?” Ocho asked Sharpe to which he replied, “I don’t really have a problem with it.”

Unc and Ocho might not look eye to eye when it comes to Wilson. Meanwhile, Pat McAfee and his crew are hoping for the best.

Pat McAfee can’t help but feel happy for the Steelers new QB

McAfee describes Wilson as having “pizzaz” by judging the workout video. He noticed the new hair, the sunglasses, the new uniform and stated, “I’d be pretty happy bopping around life as well if I got $39 million next year with the expectations of a quarterback that’s only making $1 million.”

The premise behind his happiness seems genuine because the Steelers might just have saved Wilson’s career by hiring him. Before the trade happened, there weren’t a lot of talks about Wilson getting accepted anywhere else. One of the hosts also added, “Russ gets that haircut, I don’t want to deal with that guy on Sundays,” and added, “he looks mean, and he looks ready to go.”

Hopefully, Wilson maintains the zeal and takes the Steelers to new heights, something that they have been missing for a couple of years.
