In the Week 3 game against the Cowboys, Williams delivered a stunning performance by completing 19 of 28 passes for 298 yards and achieving four touchdowns without getting sacked. This earned Williams the honor of NFC Offensive Player of the Week. However, it seems he is brushing off the spotlight, which Bears HC Ben Johnson indicated at the press conference.

Ben Johnson told the reporters that Williams was “completely unfazed” after winning the award. “I tried to recognize him in front of the group, and he wasn’t having it. He is very stoic, and he’s already on to the next game. He knows he needs to have an even better performance here this week to give us the best chance to win,” he said.

Williams seems least interested in celebrating his accomplishment. Rather, Williams and the team are gearing up their offense under coach Johnson. This shows his modesty and his approach to the game. It seems he has already shifted his focus to the Week 4 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Caleb Williams became the first Bears quarterback to earn NFC Offensive Player of the Week since Justin Fields captured the honor in Week 9 of the 2022 season. The recognition caps an impressive three-game start for the quarterback.
Through three games, Williams has completed 63.4% of his passes for 715 yards with seven touchdowns against just one interception. His latest performance featured touchdown passes of 35 yards to wide receiver Rome Odunze, 10 yards to tight end Cole Kmet, and a 4-yard strike to wide receiver DJ Moore on fourth-and-goal to complete a methodical 19-play, 76-yard drive.
Williams led an offense that operated with remarkable efficiency, allowing zero sacks while committing no pre-snap penalties or turnovers. A testament to both his decision-making and the team’s preparation.

The offensive coordinator and coach of the Chicago Bears, Declan Doyle, said at a press conference that the goal with Caleb is to make him gain “calculated confidence” in his throw for the upcoming game. “Yeah. I wouldn’t use the term cautious. It’s calculated confidence.” Said Doyle. ” You know what I mean, like, premeditated, I’m out there, and I’ve done this so often. I’ve drilled this so often that it’s like breathing. I’m looking at my first read. My footwork is right, and hey, it’s not there. And because my footwork is right, it brings me right to my next read. That’s what we’re trying to get to. We’re trying to ingrain habits that are calculated and that breed confidence.” Pointing to the goal, what the team is trying to achieve with Williams.
This balance and confidence of a touchdown have been the core of Williams’ success. The Bears may lean on creativity again, the way they produced the trick with the Cowboys. Williams already has the structure ready in the game. With DJ Moore and wide receiver Luther Burden III stretching the field, Caleb has plenty of weapons to test the Raiders’ defense.
