Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may have underestimated the Swifties, or perhaps he intentionally dropped hints, or the right word is easter egg, from his fiancée’s newest album, The Life of a Showgirl, weeks before its release. The album has officially dropped. And as one might be assuming, there seem to be plenty of references to the TE.

The first has to be the player’s frequently used phrase, “keep it 100.” On the first song, “The Fate of Ophelia,” the lyrics were “Swore my loyalty to me, myself and I / Right before you lit my sky up,” and also included the phrase “Keep it 100.” What appears to be a shout-out to her fiancé doesn’t look debatable.

The same phrase also appeared on a mirror inside Spotify’s The Life of a Showgirl pop-up in New York City. Kelce had also used the same phrase back in July, sharing some photos from their vacations on Instagram. ‘“Had some adventures this offseason, kept it [100].” Kelce wrote in the caption weeks before the official release. Fans were quick to join the dots.

This song had a few more references to the football player and his team. “Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes,” another segment of the song read. The romance rumors began when the singer was spotted cheering for the Chiefs, alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna, at the Arrowhead Stadium.

Swift conveyed more about her feelings through her song Opalite. The title appears to be a nod to Kelce’s October birthstone, while the lyrics reflect more about the personal transformation she has experienced.

She sings, “sleepless in the onyx night.” “But now the sky is opalite / Oh my lord, never met no one like you before,” she continued. She delved deep into her life and childhood in her song, “Eldest Daughter.” In this, she celebrates a love she once thought impossible and a warm reminder of where it all began.

When you found me I said I was busy / That was a lie,” she sings. The romance between Swift (eldest daughter) and Kelce (youngest child) began during her Eras Tour when the Chiefs player failed to give a friendship bracelet to the singer. “When I said I don’t believe in marriage, that was a lie /” the lyric read. “Every eldest daughter was the first lamb to the slaughter. Every youngest child felt they were raised up in the wild / But now you’re home.”

“I’m never gonna let you down,” these lyrics might also hint at their relationship. “I’m never gonna leave you out / So many traitors / Smooth operators / I’m never gonna break that vow / I’m never gonna leave you now, now, now.”

The Shake It Off singer is known for her love of Easter eggs, something shared by the Swifties. And Kelce, who likely heard the songs before the rest of the world, might have had it easy trying to connect all the dots.

Wi$h Li$t,” “Wood,” and “Honey” are the other tracks where the singer subtly gave a nod to her fiancé. “It’s you and me forever, dancing in the dark / But for me it’s understood, I ain’t got to knock on wood,” the lyrics of the song Wood read. “Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see / His love was the key to open my thighs.”

In this, Swift sang about intimacy and love and even predicted their engagement. Talk about telepathy. “Girls I don’t need to catch the bouquet, mm, to know a hard rock is on the way,” the lyrics read. She even made a sweet love confession in “Wi$h Li$t,” where she talks about choosing love and a simple life and family. “I just want you / Have a couple kids, got the whole block lookin’ like you,” she sings. “I made wishes on all of the stars / Please, God, bring me a best friend / Who I think is hot.”

Last but not least, the 11th track seemingly has a subtle nod to the love and connection they share. The song is titled “Honey,” which also happens to be the nickname the Chiefs player has for the singer.

Did Travis Kelce like the album?

That goes without saying, he liked the songs. “It’s a lot more upbeat, fun pop. A complete 180 from songs on Tortured Poets,” he said. In case you missed it, he did mention the references. “I keep listening to this album,” Kelce said in an interview in August.

“And I know she mentioned that it’s gonna be a lot more pop beats and everything. But it’s still so poetic. Her melodies, her references. It’s so much fun to listen to, I’ve been dancing all throughout the house.”

This was the same month when he popped the question to the player. In August, after two years of dating, the Blank Space singer and Kelce announced their engagement, sharing photos from his rose-filled garden proposal.

Later, on The Graham Norton Show, Taylor couldn’t stop raving about the proposal. “He really crushed it in surprising me,” she said, flaunting her engagement ring. “While we were talking on his podcast, he had a complete garden built out the back of his house to propose in. He went all out – 10 out of 10.”

I want to do the album stuff first,” she said when asked about wedding plans. “And the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan.” With the engagement sealed, fans wonder if wedding bells might ring once the 2025 season wraps up.
