The Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, delivered another stellar performance in Week 7, throwing for 286 yards and three touchdowns while adding 28 rushing yards in a dominant 31–0 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. With that victory, Mahomes notched his 93rd career regular-season win, surpassing Peyton Manning for the most wins by a quarterback aged 30 or younger in NFL history. This has HC Andy Reid reply to those who see him as an “average QB”.

“I think he’s the best,” Reid said. “We ask him to do so much stuff. Look at his game and look at his numbers and how he contributes and how he gets everyone on the offense involved… his leadership is second to none.” After the win against the Raiders, this coach-QB duo also secured a milestone.

Reid and Mahomes’ career record now stands at 93–26, a staggering mark that continues to grow. By doing this, they have surpassed the legendary Chiefs duo of coach Hank Stram and quarterback Len Dawson. The two had contributed to the Chiefs’ lone Super Bowl title, dating back to 1970. But as we know, the numbers went up when Reid took over.

Reid took over as head coach in 2013. And Mahomes was selected with the 10th overall pick in 2017. Together, they have rewritten the Chiefs’ story. What was once a struggling franchise is now the NFL’s modern dynasty, with three Super Bowl titles.

The Kansas City Chiefs have never had to wonder what Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes bring to the table. And this season is proving that all over again.

Mahomes is putting up MVP-caliber numbers once more: 1,800 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, 250 rushing yards, four rushing scores, and only two interceptions. It’s the kind of stat line that screams dominance. After a rocky start to 2025, he’s clearly back to playing at an elite level.

His passer rating has surged, and his yards per attempt have climbed to 7.3 this season, with an overall completion rate of 66.1%. A big part of that resurgence has come from finally having his full supporting cast back.

Andy Reid’s Chiefs are looking unstoppable

Even with seven straight AFC Championship appearances and five Super Bowl trips in the past seven seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs entered this year with many doubting their staying power. Early-season struggles, including a 0-2 start, only fueled the narrative that their dynasty might be fading. But the Chiefs are proving the skeptics wrong.

Winning four of their last five games, Kansas City has climbed to a 4-3 record. Showing that the team’s veteran savvy isn’t going anywhere. Former NFL coach Antonio Pierce even warned that the Chiefs are just hitting their stride. And their recent performances back that up.

The return of star receiver Rice adds another layer to head coach Andy Reid’s offense. Without him, the team lacked vertical explosiveness and red-zone efficiency. During Rice’s suspension, the locker room showed immense support. Travis Kelce, Brown, and Tyquan Thornton famously wore “Free 4” shirts before the Week 2 game against the Eagles, highlighting the bond and brotherhood that define this team.

Rice’s impact is immediate. In his game vs the Raiders, he recorded two receiving touchdowns, seven receptions for 42 yards. Despite enduring a knee injury, Rice appears to be healthy, giving the Chiefs a critical vertical threat and red-zone weapon.

With the team at 4-3 in the midst of the AFC playoff race, Reid’s squad is once again poised to make a serious run
