The Kansas City Chiefs wanted to build a legacy with a historic, never-before-seen three-peat. But now, they appear to have built a different three-peat: losing streak since Super Bowl LIX.

Since Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback, the 2025 season marked the first time the team stood with a 0-2 record.

Now, a day before they’re headed for the Week 3 clash against the New York Giants, the injury report has been dropped. To say the least, it’s not looking good, with 11 players listed.

Plus, the latest injury report by the Chiefs also listed Ashton Gillotte (elbow), Charles Omenihu (hand), and Jawaan Taylor (ankle/knee). Like Mahomes, the statuses of all three of them remain unclear.

So far, head coach Andy Reid has been answering all questions with “We’ll see.”

Until Danna returns, Omarr Norman-Lott or Gillotte is expected to be called upon for replacement. Nohl Williams or Josh Williams are likely to replace Fulton in Week 3, and Royals is expected to take over Worthy’s duties, marking his pro debut.

However, if he is held out of the Chiefs’ game against the Giants, the Chiefs will take on the field with Nikko Remigio, Tyquan Thornton, and Brown. It goes without saying that Mahomes has a good connection with Brown.

But he’s also expected to rely more on his new wideout target, Thornton. The duo connected for a huge 33-yard pass in Week 1. Mahomes and Remigio have been a promising pair in the past.

Giants’ injury report

Kansas City isn’t the only one with a long list in the Injury Report. Their Week 3 opponents, the Giants are also in the same 0-2 boat, have 13 players listed on the Injury Report.

Only LB Darius Muasau’s status has been confirmed for the game: Out with a concussion/eye injury. DL Chauncey Golston, WR Gunner Olszewski, and T Andrew Thomas are mentioned as questionable. DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches and LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles’ statuses are doubtful. Rest?

The availabilities of WR Wan’Dale Robinson, G Jon Runyan, C John Michael Schmitz, WR Darius Slayton, and RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. remain unclear, as they were seen in limited participation on Friday.
